Leasowe Castle – Wedding Venue

Leasowe Castle – Wedding Venue

Recently we popped along to the open day at Leasowe castle when they had an open day with the rooms dressed up for weddings and showing details like the chair covers with colours available and table decorations etc.. It was especially good to see the Star Chamber as we are looking forward to a wedding here very soon so it was an ideal opportunity. The Star Chamber is used for civil ceremonies and is a beautiful wood panelled cosy room, which can accommodate wedding parties for up to 50 people so ideal for the smaller intimate wedding. The Star chamber, so called as its ceiling is studded with golden stars was originally a dining-room and library. It was fitted out by Sir Edward Cust in 1836 with the original panelling from the Star Chamber in the Old Exchequer Buildings at Westminster. Four old tapestries depicting the four seasons complement the room. The ivy-covered arch is optional.

The Victoria Suite is newly re-furbished, gorgeous colours and very decadent looking with the feather table-top decorations. Of course brides can arrange own decor but its one less thing to worry about when planning your special day. The Victoria Suite has its own private bar, dance floor and toilets nearby. Capacity is for 70 and up to 110 for the evening. Its an upstairs room and has lovely view overlooking the grounds. An ante room can be used to receive your guests and serve an evening buffet.

Victoria Suite

The largest suite is the Northumberland and Ballroom suites, capacity from 70 – 220 for the day, with itsroom dividers opened, and up to 240 for the evening function. A light airy room, plenty of natural light from the windows, so great for us photographers! Beautiful table decorations available, they really take care of all the details for you so you can just enjoy your special day.

Ballroom Suite

Accommodation is available too – including a spacious 4 -poster bed suites

Gemma and Sean Pre-Wedding Shoot Leasowe Castle

Gemma and Sean Pre-Wedding Shoot Leasowe Castle

Its was a lovely sunny afternoon and time to meet up with Gemma and Sean for a get to know you and pre-wedding shoot session. We had previously met Gemma when she booked us for her wedding  photography  but had yet to meet with Sean. They are  a super couple and we quickly put them at their ease as we walked around their chosen venue of Leasowe Castle and went through some poses and candid shots with them. Any fears that Sean wouldn’t smile easily were soon dispelled, they were just so natural and happy with each other, it was such a pleasure to see. We find these little sessions a really important part of the pre-wedding preparations which is why we include it in our photography packages.  Images will be used on  mini business cards and made available for wedding guests, giving our contact details and on-line gallery instructions for perusal of Gemma and Shaun’s wedding images.  We are really looking forward to their wedding in a few weeks time. For now some of the images taken this aftternoon.

Fun Day West Kirby 2010

Fun Day West Kirby 2010

West Kirby Churches Together had their annual Fun Day Sat 14th Aug.  Always a good family day out and this year was no exception.  Started off a little cloudy but sun did come out and the families came into the Coronation Gardens to enjoy the fun.   Lots of activities with face painting, coconut shies, bouncy castles, puppet shows for the younger ones even free hot dogs and burgers, cakes and cold drinks.  No go-karts this year but the gladiator fights were popular with kids and adults – even a contest between the United Reformed minister and his treasurer – I sure I heard him  say “gimme more money” as he swung the baton!

Steve and Belinda Pre-Wed Shoot

Steve and Belinda Pre-Wed Shoot

Thus week we had a brief pre-wedding shoot with Steve and Belinda who are getting married in Stafford, followed by a reception at the exclusive Sandon Hall. in October.

It was a little bit rushed, Steve is a busy doctor and came home from the hospital in the evening for this quick shoot. We have another visit planned with them to look round their chosen wedding venue so will get some more shots then. The evening sunshine was delightful and their garden provided a lovely setting for the photographs.  Steve’s beautiful daughter, Isabella, and Belinda’s beloved dog, Daisy kept our cameras clicking whilst we waited for Steve. They were perfect models, which is great as both are going to be bridesmaids!

Wedding at the Saddle Club

Wedding at the Saddle Club

Last weekend Pixsmiths were at Prenton, Wirral to take some portfolio pictures for the Saddle Club in Prenton, Wirral a unique wedding venue, being the only place in England where you can marry over the anvil.  Our thanks to Nick a family friend of the Bride and Groom, Karen and Paul, for sharing the photography stage with us, much appreciated.  Thank you too to Karen and Paul for being such a lovely bride and groom, always happy to pose for us.  We wish you all  the happiness now and in the years to come.  The venue was decked out with canopies over the beamed ceiling (its quite a low ceiling too!)  and chairs were beautifully dressed with red sashes to co-ordinate with the bridal party’s colour scheme.

For now a sneak preview with a collage and a couple of pictures.

Peckforton Castle – Wedding Venue

Peckforton Castle – Wedding Venue

Dreaming of a castle wedding for your special day? Peckforton Castle, in the midst of the beautiful Cheshire countryside, makes for a mgnificent backdrop for a special wedding. If you think this grade I listed building looks familiar its because it has been used for Robin Hood and Dr Who. You can enjoy some unique touches to your wedding day too, like having one of their owls fly down the altar with the weddigns rings during the ceremony! Such an amzing sight!

After the ceremony and before the wedding breakfast is served you can arrange fotr the Birds of Prey in flight display, falcons, owls, hawks and eagles.
Its a really informative talk about the birds as they fly between the handlers and various perches, watch out as they will deliberately swoop jus over your head!
Bride party can even hold the birds on the glove too – a really memorable picture of the day. Check out Peckforton’s Castle’s website. Pixsmiths will be delighted to quote for your wedding photography here too!

Wedding of Howard and Helen

Wedding of Howard and Helen

Pixsmiths had the pleasure of photographing at the wedding of Howard and Helen on Sat 17th July. Ceremony was at the beautiful Christ Church, Port  Sunlight and a reception at the Village Hotel, Bromorough.  Firstly our thanks to Alan, Helen’s nephew , who kindly allowed us to join him to capture shots as well so he too could also enjoy his family wedding and care for his children.

The sun shone on this lovely couple, but not too bright for the photos!  Their story of how they met and their journey to this wedding day had many twists and turns along the way…plus the minister was instrumental in bringing them together so it was wonderful that he was the one to marry them. Many congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Roberts as they begin their new life together. Wishing you much happiness in the years to come. Below just a small selection of the pictures.  All the images taken will provide a great choice to make a beautiful book for Howard and Helen.

…and here’s a little slideshow video put together….please remeber this is a web version and does not reflect actual of final product quality.
