Wedding of Howard and Helen

Wedding of Howard and Helen

Pixsmiths had the pleasure of photographing at the wedding of Howard and Helen on Sat 17th July. Ceremony was at the beautiful Christ Church, Port  Sunlight and a reception at the Village Hotel, Bromorough.  Firstly our thanks to Alan, Helen’s nephew , who kindly allowed us to join him to capture shots as well so he too could also enjoy his family wedding and care for his children.

The sun shone on this lovely couple, but not too bright for the photos!  Their story of how they met and their journey to this wedding day had many twists and turns along the way…plus the minister was instrumental in bringing them together so it was wonderful that he was the one to marry them. Many congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Roberts as they begin their new life together. Wishing you much happiness in the years to come. Below just a small selection of the pictures.  All the images taken will provide a great choice to make a beautiful book for Howard and Helen.

…and here’s a little slideshow video put together….please remeber this is a web version and does not reflect actual of final product quality.

July Weddings

July Weddings
Saddle Club

Saddle Club

There sems to be two camps of wedding plans at the moment – those booking late and those looking ahead to next summer’s weddings, nothing inbetween.  We have had late bookings for this season and enquiries for next year so if you have not booked your photographer yet contact us for a personal quote or look at the packages we can offer.

Pixsmiths have two upcoming weddings in July, both we are looking forward to very much. we just love weddings!

First up Helen and Howard, a super couple we have recently met are getting married at Christchurch in Port Sulight and a reception at the Village Hotel, Bromborough. We have photographed in this church before so are well aware of the restrictions in having to stand right at the back of the church isle – so tripod and long lenses called for! We will enjoy building a beautiful coffee table book for them to cherish their special day memories.

At the end of the month we are shooting some portfolio work at the Saddle Club in Prenton, a new venue for us.  Its a small and unique venue being the only place in England where ceremonies occur over the anvil, so we are also looking forward to that.

Alternative Transport

Alternative Transport

Looking for alternative transport ideas for your event? How about a monster truck Limo?
We strolled down to the prom at West kirby and up rolls this big red monster truck and alighted some bright young girls dressed up to the nines.

At first thought it was a hen party but then saw the equally dressed up guys in their smart suits. Turned out they were on their way to a school leavers prom and were enjoying a ride around in this unique Limo – the only one of its kind in the world. The limo seats eight passengers and has a bar, six TV’s (one 50” TV), leather seating with strobe and neon lighting. The Limos can be hired from MD-travel and Beverley Hills Limousines, based at Southport, Merseyside. Other styles are available too like Knight Rider and a fire-engine limo – apparently popular with firemen getting married. A real novelty touch and definitely something different. Check out their website for full details.

Below a few quick pictures snapped last night.

Mini Moo

Mini Moo

Mini Moo Cards

Just to say got our mini moo buisness cards the other day and happy they have turned out quite well IMHO.

Not meant to replace full business card but these smaller thinner version have their own usefulness.

For example for including as a tag with print orders, can be placed inside wedding order of service so clients have ready contact for viewing on-line galleries., or placed on tables without being too much of a distraction from the table decorations.   They come in a neat box so could easily be placed alongside a wedding guest book – the options are endless!  I love how you can have different designs on them – not stuck to the same image for each order so it can show  a range of photographic styles and products.  Plenty of room on the reverse for contact details etc…  Really neat, hope you like them!

Hillbark – Wedding Venue

Hillbark – Wedding Venue

Hillbark is one of Wirral’s leading wedding venues.   It oozes history and charm with lots of features for photographic opportunities – like the Sir Walter Raleigh fireplace and the beautiful stained glass windows. The large mirror and upstairs windows make particulary good compositions.   Then there is the gallery above the hall as the bride makes her entrance, looking down on her beloved awaiting her arrival. The outdoor space has landscaped gardens and a gazebo for outdoor photographic opportunies too.

Originally known as Bidston Court, Hillbark House originally stood near the urban farm in 1891, built for soap manufacturer Robert Hudson. Designed by Edward Oult, who also designed houses in Port Sunlight Village, it was inspired by 16th century Little Moreton Hall in Cheshire. It was moved and re-built at Royden Park between 1921 and 1931.

Pixsmiths really enjoy photgraphing weddings at this fantastic location so if this is your choie of venue call us for a quote for your wedding photography.
