Thornton Manor Waterside Pavilion Rustic Wedding: Jennie and Toby

Thornton Manor Waterside Pavilion Rustic Wedding: Jennie and Toby

Jennie and Toby’s Rustic wedding Thornton Manor Waterside

A church wedding and reception at the idyllic Thornton Manor Waterside Pavilion were the chosen locations for Jennie and Toby’s wedding The smaller of the lake settings at Thornton Manor but lovely grounds with the bridges and lake views A tinder match made in heaven for Toby and Jennie ..their 3 year anniversary marked was their wedding day.

Bridal Preps

So many pretty details! Dessy bridesmaids dresses in pretty different coloured pastels, Jennie’s own dress was  a gorgeous bridal gown from Bellissima Brimstage Brides and check out those divine Valentino shoes. Pretty blossoms in white and green from Victoria Blossom where a perfect match for the day, fresh and summery The girls had fun being pampered

Neston Church Ceremony

The ceremony took place at St Mary’s and St Helens parish church Neston, a beautiful historic church with exhibits from the Viking age inside A few nervous looks from Toby and great to see his Best men supporting him  and giving reassurance Of course Jennie being devoted to her pooch Oliver had a poem read out especially about how to love her favoured 4 legged friend …and Oliver did make an appearance later on in the day, unsurprisingly. The threatened thunderstorms did not appear, a little rain in the morning freshened things up after the heat of the previous day and did not reappear til late in the evening.  Perfect weather for all as they came out to a confetti tunnel – the mini canons totally surprising them! That look on Toby’s face!

Reception Waterside Pavilion

The reception took place at the idyllic Waterside Pavilion beautifully set out in trestle table format, suited to the BBQ meal.  Barratt’s the caterers did a great job cooking minted lamb, BBQ chicken, vegetable skewers, prawn and salmon skewers as well as steak.  Salads and Couscous with pepper, potatoes and coleslaw provided the perfect accompaniments   Pink Sherbet stationery excelled as usual with her luxury designed stationery from her Sophia range. Check Cheryl’s blog post for all the details. The invites and order of service all coordinated  with the table plan, table names and place names.  The tables were all named after bars with significant meanings – eg.  Sydney Opera Bar for the proposal location during the Australian adventures.  The speeches were regaled with those early tinder messages and much laughter with surprise images of Toby from his modelling days! A wonderful day spent with such hospital staff, friends and family.  The evening got underway with he cake cut and reveal in to the first dance amidst lots of smoke effects and then musical entertainment from the band The Daddioes.  Jennie and Toby we loved your day, so relaxed hope you enjoy your blog post and we wish you much love and happiness

Marco’s Hoylake Wedding: Natasha and Alex

Marco’s Hoylake Wedding: Natasha and Alex

Marcos Hoylake Wedding: Natasha and Alex

Another local Wirral wedding for Pixsmiths!  Back at St Hildeburgh (we were her just a few weeks earlier for John and Sarah’s spring  wedding)
Reception was literally just across the road to Marcos Holiday Inn Hoylake – couldn’t be more handy
This was a first time we had worked with weddign planner Charlotte Dodd of Charlotte Elise Weddings and Events and it was great – so well organised and good communication beforehand.
This wedding was a great collaboration of many suppliers we love to work with too – all helps for smooth running of the day.
Our Blue Orchid team may not exist in name now but we still collaborate where we can to theme a wedding

Bridal Preps

Bridal preps were just around the corner from Marcos too – see really couldn’t be much handier, a very neat triangle of venues.
MUA was Cathryn Ann Rawlinson and Claire Kendrick on hair – fab combo!
Being local Sandy could stay with the girls until late and then walk to the church to catch up with Dave and the men and prepare for the church ceremony
Alex was surprised with his ride from Liverpool where he was getting ready in a red mustang – his face was a picture!

Church Ceremony

Natasha looked so elegant in her Morilee gown with its intricate beading with embroidered lace applique and an illusion beaded back panel
and well looked after by her bridesmaids in their pastel coloured gowns from The Wirral Wedding House.  Alex was overcome when he saw his beautiful bride
Natasha left tradition behind and walked down the aisle by her self too – very brave of her.
Bit of rain post ceremony so group shot inside and then we made it out for the confetti tunnel
Always good to have indoor and outdoor options for our British weather!

Reception

The planned shoot at Red Rocks would have been a bit silly on wet slippery rocks so its was off to Hoylake Prom for a few pictures in the gorgeous Bentley from Classic Bridal Cars
Soon it was  time to head back to Marcos for the group photos – yay no rain now and we took some more portraits in the garden
The Garden room was beautifully decked out by Sapphire bespoke Events – stellar as always

Oh and what a treat all the guests had with Mike the Magician on hand to entertain
and  not forgetting a so scrumptious Squidges cookie table – totally delicious – plus made for an interesting ring shot!
Entertainment was provide by Mike the Magician who wowed his audience as always with his tricks.
The evening DJ was Frank Keating of Wirral Wedding Parties and as always his Mr And Mrs Shoe game was fun and a talking point

Thank you Natasha and Alex – it was a pleasure to cover your wedding and we wish you much happiness and health for the future .
Love Sandy & Dave

Emily and Peter’s Sunshine Wedding at Thornton Manor

We were so delighted that peter and Emily asked Pixsmiths to be their Thornton Manor wedding photographer.
Thornton Manor is one of our most local venues and we love coming here its such a gorgeous place,in the Cheshire countryside>
Always well organised and staff are brilliant The grounds and rooms are just stunning and a perfect wedding venue – exactly why Emily and Peter chose it.

Bridal make up and hair preps were in the spacious Gatehouse and then Emily got dressed in an even more spacious room in the main house.
Very impressed with how he team organised transfer of belongings over.  Emily was super organised from early on with make up already done when we arrived some hours before the ceremony.
Peter had Emily all emotional with the message on his card to her and had arranged for her Nan’s chain (which she wore every day prior to her passing) to be placed in her bouquet. A thoughtful way to remember her Nan and Emily’s mum also got teary seeing it too. Emily wore flowers in her hair to match the lilac of the bridesmaids dresses.  Lovely detail in  the top beading detail of their dresses which matched that of Emily’s gorgeous dress. Little Oliver, Emily’s nephew almost stole the show though, so cute!

We always enjoy plenty of time relaxing  with the girls and get some venue shots. Seeing as the girls were getting ready on site it was easy to capture the groomsmen arrival too.
The groomsmen added to the colour of the day by wearing a variety of colourful socks.

The dining room(through the Grand Hall) was packed with family and friends  for the ceremony – lovely to see the bridesmaids escorted down the aisle before Emily made her stunning appearance with her proud dad- she looked radiant all day!   Celebratory drinks and out for confetti mingling and photos before the wedding breakfast. The Lime avenue was looking stunning in the sunshine

The music room always looks fabulous and today was no exception, truly a grand setting for a memorable meal.  We loved the expression of joy on Emily’s face when she was shown the room.
Lots of cheers and hand waving as Peter and Emily were announced in as the new Mr and Mrs.  Good food and entertaining speeches followed, the best man had everyone laughing.

Time for a stroll after the meal to get some fresh air and some softer light portraits -in the beautiful flower decked sunken garden area
Extra portraits are a bonus when we are booked for a full day package, making the most of your photo opportunities and spreadign it over the day.
Soon time for the evening dancing and party with the casino going down a treat, certainly provided for a  lively atmosphere!

It was great to work with Stuart Appleyard of Appleyard Productions too, we worked together really well, all of us liking the natural unobtrusive approach
The sun shone all day and everyone had a great time.
Thank you Peter and Emily that we could capture and share in your day and we wish you much continued happiness
love Sandy & Dave x

Royden Park Couple Shoot: Danielle and Dennis

Back at Royden Park for another engagement shoot – this time with Danielle and Dennis
We never tire of visiting here, always something new to discover, new options for pics>
What a sunny-natured couple – their joy was so evident.
plus Danielle picked the perfect outfit for the shoot she loves the colour yellow – brings so much sunshine and fun

Danielle and Dennis had never been to the walled garden at Royden Park or the little nearby mere
Royden Park is run by the local council and has a handy cafe in the coach house courtyard  run by volunteers too.  More information on the Park  here
They were enthralled with the location and the floral beauty. Even more so when they saw the Laburnum arch – almost in full bloom – well a match made in heaven!

We met one of the rangers just beforehand who gave us updates on the garden – nearly time for poppies to bloom. Also the kestrel is still residing in the old tower and is currently sitting on 5 eggs.
If you go in to the coach house – just by the Barking mad cafe there are monitors in there so they can check for the new hatchlings.  Must go again soon!

For now enjoy a few of the images from the session.  Dennis will be marrying his beautiful Brazilian bride in October this year and we can;t wait for another day capturing their happy smiles

Wirral Engagement Shoot
A stroll around Royden Pak with Laura & Dan

We dodged the rain for this lovely Wirral engagement shoot with Laura and Dan.  An hour before wet ..and later on in the evening it rained.
We had a perfect window of weather – not too hot/bright but fresh colours after the rain made it just right…plus very few people around so even better!
Lots of colour and features in the walled garden, The laburnum arch is almost ready, some good coverage for this shoot though, always a popular location.
Just a brief stop here as rangers were closing up early but still plenty of other areas in the park to explore.  The heron on the mere even made an appearance for us!

Their daughter Rebecca is going to be a flower girl for their summer wedding next year. …they thought she might be shy and would be a good idea to bring her along to get to know us.
Well she was far from shy,  a model in the making …almost stole the show! she Loved the camera and the camera her!

Laura and Dan were just so natural, and a treat for Dan’s birthday too.  We really can’t wait for their wedding ..they are going to be a dream>
Its not til next summer but Laura and Dan have taken advantage of a weddign fayre special and have one of our fabulous weddign apps where guest can RSVP,
save the date to their calendars and see the schedule and locations for thee wedding.  Their app has now been updated with highlights from this Wirral engagement shoot
Its a useful wedding app that will that will continue to be added too after the wedding and be a lovely digital keepsake of their wedding journey.

It was a fab session and so many images captured ..here just a few we hope you enjoy.  All their engagement images will be provided with their wedding images on our prettily packaged USB
