Ashton Park Couple Shoot with Chellsi & David
I confess I gave a big whoop of delight when I saw Chellsi post on facebook her engagement to David
..and an even bigger one when they contacted Wirral Wedding Photographers Pixsmiths to cover their wedding this coming October.
We had previously met Chellsi & David at other weddings – Anna & Simon, where she was bridesmaid and Jemma & Frankie’s wedding.
She has an infectious laugh and a warm heart. This was supposed to be a beach sunset shoot but hey with our British weather we live to be flexible and have a plan B!
So we ended up in Aston Park and it turned out really well! I think Chellsi and David enjoyed their stroll around Ashton Park with us …as did their dog Toby.
he definitely didn’t want to be left out!
Such a great couple and really looking forward to their autumn wedding at one of our favourite venues Inglewood Manor.
Trafford Hall Wedding Photography
A vintage Day for Cassie & James
Such a sunny day for a glorious Trafford Hall wedding day. Cassie and James enjoyed a relaxed fun day here with their family and friends
Trafford Hall is a great Chester wedding venue if you want to put your own stamp on your day. It’s a beautiful red brick Georgian Mansion with ample space outdoors, a lawn, swing, woods and sunken garden areas amongst the onsite 52 bedded accommodation. Its an exclusive use venue so you will be the only bride her on the day. Its fantastic that all the profits generated by weddings and events at Trafford Hall are ploughed back into the charitable work carried out at the hall as well as the development of our eco friendly facilities and policies.
This was one of our bespoke packages – 4 hours covering from an hour before ceremony through to couple sat down for their weddign breakfast
Lots of activity in the bridal prep room – one of the many rooms upstairs – with 6 bridesmaids and two make-up artists, bride’s mum and then day and various other people popping in.
The maids looked fantastic in their navy dresses and pink wraps
Just as well Dave went to capture the men’s arrival and some venue details whilst this was going on.
Lots of giggles and moments in the ceremony – i’m sure there was a tear in the eye from James when Cassie entered and walked with her dad.
All too soon the new Mr and Mrs were being showered with dried lavender in the bright sunshine – a change from confetti and suited their country garden theme.
The venue was set up by the creative talented vintage venue dressers and prop hire company Sweetpea & Ivy. You can see below how fab it looked
Lots of great touches with wooden Love Letters, lanterns, lace and china on the tables and plenty of flowers.
The amazing cake was made by Cassie’s mum – just check it out below in the images – very intricate and colourful!
A really unique personal touch were the hand drawn place names for each guest – love those!
Family groups done and then time for some bride and groom portraits in the quaint garden – always some nooks and crannies to find
Perfect timing as chef was calling for guests to enter for their meal – all beautifully cooked on site. he was impressed we kept on schedule!
No speeches to be had so we just finished with some detail shots and a ring shot as requested by Cassie in her bouquet.
Many congratulations on such a sunny day at Trafford Hall on your wedding Cassie and James. Wishing you much happiness love Sandy & Dave x
Relaxed Rustic Woodland Nunsmere Hall Wedding
Nunsmere Hall Wedding Photographer
We have covered a wonderful Nunsmere Hall Wedding before, it’s a gorgeous country House Hotel. so many photo options.
So we were delighted to be back here with Libby and Chris towards the end of June as their Nunsmere Hall Wedding Photographer.
We had met Libby and Chris at the very first Hulme Hall wedding fayre run by the Bridal Show.
We were thrilled when chatting after the wedding that Libby said she had chosen us as she could see it was more than a business but a passion to us
– she watched us taking details at the fayre
We met at the rehearsal a couple of days beforehand for their Church ceremony at St Gorges URC Church in Thornton Hough
There we discovered Sandy knew Libby’s parents from many years ago – small world!
so that was a great start to a relaxed wedding even before we got to Bridal preps at her mum’s home.
The wedding timeline was well planned, an early ceremony to make the most of the day and to allow for a longer journey to the venue
Bride and Groom Preps
Fab presents at the preps – Libby was given a day at the Liverpool recording Studios and Chris was made up with his table soccer
With all timings going to plan (thanks to co-ordination with Emma MUA we got some fun shots with the girls helping Libby get dressed
and captured Libby’s Mum and Dad’s reaction on seeing her in her gorgeous gown from Bridal Elegance ..and then the bridesmaids were crying at their reaction!
Equally chilled out for groom preps, and of course they didn’t head straight to the church but to the pub across the road for some dutch courage
we did have to coax them away before Libby arrived!
The minister at St Georges was really accommodating to us we cold shoot from the front and the back – always great to get both angles
It was an engaging ceremony – think we detected a tear in Chris’s eye when he saw his Bride. arriving by his side
It was a joyous ceremony
and we had the choir singing too.
The reception Venue
Nunsmere Hall Wedding events is under new management, same company as Peckforton Castle (and now also Inglewood Manor) with same excellent service.
The grounds and Marquee have been vastly improved (not that they were bad before, but the garden landscaping means the mere is now much more evident from the grounds.
The extended marque has a lovely backdrop onto the lake too. The gardens are gorgeous and colourful as ever.
Really spoilt for choices for where to take wedding portraits during your Nunsmere Hall wedding
Beautiful venue decoration by The Raspberry tree company for a woodland rustic theme and with a Tranmere Rovers football twist for Chis with the table names
Loved the pallet table plan with its little buckets of flowers – genius ! The newly extended marquee looked resplendent with all their creativeness.
The pearlescent heart shaped place names were hung on the back of the chairs ..it was lovely to see guests wearing them later on in the evening too
Libby’s band Shark Sandwich played in the evening – what a treat they were!, certainly got the crowd dancing, great party atmosphere
plus they got Libby to sing a couple of songs too. So glad we stayed a bit longer than the first dance to capture these moments
Check out the highlights below! Thank you Libby and Chris for asking us to capture your amazing day. much love Sandy and Dave

Elegance Bridal for all of the bride and bridesmaids dresses
Happy to be back at Hamilton Square for the Birkenhead Town Hall wedding of Laura and Bill
Not that long since we had another Town Hall Wedding ..well virtually an elopement
…but back to this weddign with the lovely Laura and Bill
Ah all those looks between them, the way Bill held Laura’s hand …such love and devotion was so evident they adore each other
Truly a touching ceremony, Laura is a little shy but so endearing
So glad that Pixsmiths could capture these moments for them in a relaxed way that put them at ease
An overcast day but kept dry for the few formal groups needed
The reception was at The Manor Restaurant in Greasby, Wirral – a really excellent restaurant with a separate function suite suitable for small Wirral Weddings
Its an elegant converted 17th century Manor House and we love to eat at this restaurant ourselves for special occasions, food is always delicious
Although only a small are the surrounding garden and courtyard can be used for some lovely wedding portraits
We were fortunate to have some extra time at the Manor whilst the room was being prepared to get some extra portraits which went down really well.
Many congratulations Laura and Bill, it was a joy to capture these moments and we wish you much love and happiness
Birkenhead Town Hall weddings are extremely popular, especially on a Friday as they always take place in the beautiful upper room, gorgeous with its decor and stained glass.
Currently weddings can be 30 minutes apart although this will soon be extended. This is why its so important being on time – Laura and Bill where.
Lateness can impact on your timings for photos on stirs etc..with other weddings crossing over so please be aware of this.
if you need a photographer for your Birkenhead Town Hall wedding, even if just to capture ceremony and a few photos after then click the link we’d love to hear from you and see how we can help
Relaxed Sheldrakes Wedding: Toni & Andy
We are delighted to be a preferred Sheldrakes Wedding Photographer.
We simply love coming to this contemporary venue with its wonderful views over the Dee Estuary
and appreciate the wonderful staff who recommend us
We have covered full day weddings here, receptions and evening celebrations after a destination wedding
See our Sheldrakes wedding archives.
Toni and Andrew asked us to cover prior to the ceremony afterwards for a few hours to get the all important group and candid shots
We had a delightful few hours with them, covering up to speeches as they were before their buffet Dave covered those as Sandy did a ring shot
Teamwork with Pixsmiths!
The ceremony was one of the shortest available, the vows are made as they exchange rings
So it was soon time to grab a few groups and portraits before the speeches.
We loved all the details!
Toni’s dress was cleverly adapted from two dresses by the amazing team at Bridal Elegance
The bridesmaids dresses were a gorgeous turquoise colour, not a colour often seen but loved it
Toni’s mum did all the flowers and arrangements, the registrar table looked amazing with the flower decor
Lots of jars and vintage touches. In particular the “guest book” consisted of “Message in a bottle” Genius idea!
A Travel suitcase for the cards and a beautiful cake with new surname topper gracing the reception table
Many congratulations guys, we loved being with you and capturing some memories of your fabulous day
Wishing you much love and happiness
Sandy & Dave xx
Queen Hotel Chester Wedding Alison & Ellis
After a long day with Jennie and Toby at Thornton MAnor the next day Pixsmiths were at The Queen Hotel for the Chester wedding of Alison and Ellis
A quirky hotel, lots of character and handily placed by Chester train station
A day that ran smoothly, on arrival we bumped in to Ellis arriving for breakfast with the co-ordinator so we soon had the requested stair shot organised.
Bridal preps in the Lily Langtry suite was relaxed. Lots of banter with the bridesmaids taking selfies in-between being made up by Emma Lampkin of Emmaculate – and the make up was! Ellis was also getting ready at the hotel, just the other end of the corridor in a room where Charles Darwin had stayed
….so easy for us to cover both preps.
A plus point when ceremony is at same location.
We used the roman statue as a setting for one of our ring shots. Rings were made by Roger Ho, custom made as Alison and Ellis had some rings from parents/grandparents to use and adapt. He did such a beautiful job, Alison said,” I can’t stop looking at my ring!”
Staff wonderfully organised, attentive and excellent communication through out made for a smooth running day and such an enjoyable one.
Guests made their way after the ceremony for a staircase shot and then went for the drinks in the outdoor courtyard.
Easy to mingle there and then call the family groups required quickly and easily
The wedding breakfast was in the turned around ceremony room and was beautifully set up in pinks and big dish bowls by Eva Adore venue dressing
Alison and Ellis were blown away when they checked out the room, they were so happy, Such a wonderful day for them
Again weather not too hot and rain stayed off all day – not bad for bank Holiday weekend!
Evening reception was in the large Colonnades Room to accommodate all the extra evening guests. Cake cut with one of the large ceremonial swords and then party time. Pizza fish and chips and a doughnut wall o enjoy as well as fun in the photo-booth provided by Plushbooths
Thank you again Alison and Ellis for having us capture your Queen Hotel Wedding – it was so enjoyable and we wish you much love and happiness
So going to enjoy building a beautiful album for your keepsake, going to be a hard choice for the images.
Thank you again also tho the staff at this Hallmark Hotel – we do hope we will be back for another Queens Hotel Chester wedding
