Happy to be back at Hamilton Square for the Birkenhead Town Hall wedding of Laura and Bill
Not that long since we had another Town Hall Wedding ..well virtually an elopement
…but back to this weddign with the lovely Laura and Bill
Ah all those looks between them, the way Bill held Laura’s hand …such love and devotion was so evident they adore each other
Truly a touching ceremony, Laura is a little shy but so endearing
So glad that Pixsmiths could capture these moments for them in a relaxed way that put them at ease
An overcast day but kept dry for the few formal groups needed
The reception was at The Manor Restaurant in Greasby, Wirral – a really excellent restaurant with a separate function suite suitable for small Wirral Weddings
Its an elegant converted 17th century Manor House and we love to eat at this restaurant ourselves for special occasions, food is always delicious
Although only a small are the surrounding garden and courtyard can be used for some lovely wedding portraits
We were fortunate to have some extra time at the Manor whilst the room was being prepared to get some extra portraits which went down really well.
Many congratulations Laura and Bill, it was a joy to capture these moments and we wish you much love and happiness
Birkenhead Town Hall weddings are extremely popular, especially on a Friday as they always take place in the beautiful upper room, gorgeous with its decor and stained glass.
Currently weddings can be 30 minutes apart although this will soon be extended. This is why its so important being on time – Laura and Bill where.
Lateness can impact on your timings for photos on stirs etc..with other weddings crossing over so please be aware of this.
if you need a photographer for your Birkenhead Town Hall wedding, even if just to capture ceremony and a few photos after then click the link we’d love to hear from you and see how we can help
Relaxed Sheldrakes Wedding: Toni & Andy
We are delighted to be a preferred Sheldrakes Wedding Photographer.
We simply love coming to this contemporary venue with its wonderful views over the Dee Estuary
and appreciate the wonderful staff who recommend us
We have covered full day weddings here, receptions and evening celebrations after a destination wedding
See our Sheldrakes wedding archives.
Toni and Andrew asked us to cover prior to the ceremony afterwards for a few hours to get the all important group and candid shots
We had a delightful few hours with them, covering up to speeches as they were before their buffet Dave covered those as Sandy did a ring shot
Teamwork with Pixsmiths!
The ceremony was one of the shortest available, the vows are made as they exchange rings
So it was soon time to grab a few groups and portraits before the speeches.
We loved all the details!
Toni’s dress was cleverly adapted from two dresses by the amazing team at Bridal Elegance
The bridesmaids dresses were a gorgeous turquoise colour, not a colour often seen but loved it
Toni’s mum did all the flowers and arrangements, the registrar table looked amazing with the flower decor
Lots of jars and vintage touches. In particular the “guest book” consisted of “Message in a bottle” Genius idea!
A Travel suitcase for the cards and a beautiful cake with new surname topper gracing the reception table
Many congratulations guys, we loved being with you and capturing some memories of your fabulous day
Wishing you much love and happiness

Queen Hotel Chester Wedding Alison & Ellis
After a long day with Jennie and Toby at Thornton MAnor the next day Pixsmiths were at The Queen Hotel for the Chester wedding of Alison and Ellis
A quirky hotel, lots of character and handily placed by Chester train station
A day that ran smoothly, on arrival we bumped in to Ellis arriving for breakfast with the co-ordinator so we soon had the requested stair shot organised.
Bridal preps in the Lily Langtry suite was relaxed. Lots of banter with the bridesmaids taking selfies in-between being made up by Emma Lampkin of Emmaculate – and the make up was! Ellis was also getting ready at the hotel, just the other end of the corridor in a room where Charles Darwin had stayed
….so easy for us to cover both preps.
A plus point when ceremony is at same location.
We used the roman statue as a setting for one of our ring shots. Rings were made by Roger Ho, custom made as Alison and Ellis had some rings from parents/grandparents to use and adapt. He did such a beautiful job, Alison said,” I can’t stop looking at my ring!”
Staff wonderfully organised, attentive and excellent communication through out made for a smooth running day and such an enjoyable one.
Guests made their way after the ceremony for a staircase shot and then went for the drinks in the outdoor courtyard.
Easy to mingle there and then call the family groups required quickly and easily
The wedding breakfast was in the turned around ceremony room and was beautifully set up in pinks and big dish bowls by Eva Adore venue dressing
Alison and Ellis were blown away when they checked out the room, they were so happy, Such a wonderful day for them
Again weather not too hot and rain stayed off all day – not bad for bank Holiday weekend!
Evening reception was in the large Colonnades Room to accommodate all the extra evening guests. Cake cut with one of the large ceremonial swords and then party time. Pizza fish and chips and a doughnut wall o enjoy as well as fun in the photo-booth provided by Plushbooths
Thank you again Alison and Ellis for having us capture your Queen Hotel Wedding – it was so enjoyable and we wish you much love and happiness
So going to enjoy building a beautiful album for your keepsake, going to be a hard choice for the images.
Thank you again also tho the staff at this Hallmark Hotel – we do hope we will be back for another Queens Hotel Chester wedding
Birkenhead Town Hall Elopement: Kelli & Jonathan
Sometimes all a couple want is a quiet, lets get away and just get married quietly ..and have a big party later!
An elopement at the Town Hall
That’s exactly what Kelli and Jonathan decided to do
Just them, their two children , nan and a friend for their witnesses
We were honoured though even though a simple ceremony, they wanted Pixsmiths to capture this special occasion with some beautiful images for their memories
We were more than happy to oblige and made a very bespoke one hour coverage package to simply cover the ceremony and a few family pics after
Our Wirral registrars were lovely as usual and their were several giggles throughout the short ceremony. They suggested the family walk down the aisle together,
after all its a pretty unique occasion and it settled any nerves.
Hope you enjoy these few highlights from our short time with you Wishing you much love and happiness

Jennie and Toby’s Rustic wedding Thornton Manor Waterside
A church wedding and reception at the idyllic Thornton Manor Waterside Pavilion were the chosen locations for Jennie and Toby’s wedding The smaller of the lake settings at Thornton Manor but lovely grounds with the bridges and lake views A tinder match made in heaven for Toby and Jennie ..their 3 year anniversary marked was their wedding day.
So many pretty details! Dessy bridesmaids dresses in pretty different coloured pastels, Jennie’s own dress was a gorgeous bridal gown from Bellissima Brimstage Brides and check out those divine Valentino shoes. Pretty blossoms in white and green from Victoria Blossom where a perfect match for the day, fresh and summery The girls had fun being pampered
Neston Church Ceremony
The ceremony took place at St Mary’s and St Helens parish church Neston, a beautiful historic church with exhibits from the Viking age inside A few nervous looks from Toby and great to see his Best men supporting him and giving reassurance Of course Jennie being devoted to her pooch Oliver had a poem read out especially about how to love her favoured 4 legged friend …and Oliver did make an appearance later on in the day, unsurprisingly. The threatened thunderstorms did not appear, a little rain in the morning freshened things up after the heat of the previous day and did not reappear til late in the evening. Perfect weather for all as they came out to a confetti tunnel – the mini canons totally surprising them! That look on Toby’s face!
Reception Waterside Pavilion
The reception took place at the idyllic Waterside Pavilion beautifully set out in trestle table format, suited to the BBQ meal. Barratt’s the caterers did a great job cooking minted lamb, BBQ chicken, vegetable skewers, prawn and salmon skewers as well as steak. Salads and Couscous with pepper, potatoes and coleslaw provided the perfect accompaniments Pink Sherbet stationery excelled as usual with her luxury designed stationery from her Sophia range. Check Cheryl’s blog post for all the details. The invites and order of service all coordinated with the table plan, table names and place names. The tables were all named after bars with significant meanings – eg. Sydney Opera Bar for the proposal location during the Australian adventures. The speeches were regaled with those early tinder messages and much laughter with surprise images of Toby from his modelling days! A wonderful day spent with such hospital staff, friends and family. The evening got underway with he cake cut and reveal in to the first dance amidst lots of smoke effects and then musical entertainment from the band The Daddioes. Jennie and Toby we loved your day, so relaxed hope you enjoy your blog post and we wish you much love and happiness

Marcos Hoylake Wedding: Natasha and Alex
Another local Wirral wedding for Pixsmiths! Back at St Hildeburgh (we were her just a few weeks earlier for John and Sarah’s spring wedding)
Reception was literally just across the road to Marcos Holiday Inn Hoylake – couldn’t be more handy
This was a first time we had worked with weddign planner Charlotte Dodd of Charlotte Elise Weddings and Events and it was great – so well organised and good communication beforehand.
This wedding was a great collaboration of many suppliers we love to work with too – all helps for smooth running of the day.
Our Blue Orchid team may not exist in name now but we still collaborate where we can to theme a wedding
Bridal preps were just around the corner from Marcos too – see really couldn’t be much handier, a very neat triangle of venues.
MUA was Cathryn Ann Rawlinson and Claire Kendrick on hair – fab combo!
Being local Sandy could stay with the girls until late and then walk to the church to catch up with Dave and the men and prepare for the church ceremony
Alex was surprised with his ride from Liverpool where he was getting ready in a red mustang – his face was a picture!
Natasha looked so elegant in her Morilee gown with its intricate beading with embroidered lace applique and an illusion beaded back panel
and well looked after by her bridesmaids in their pastel coloured gowns from The Wirral Wedding House. Alex was overcome when he saw his beautiful bride
Natasha left tradition behind and walked down the aisle by her self too – very brave of her.
Bit of rain post ceremony so group shot inside and then we made it out for the confetti tunnel
Always good to have indoor and outdoor options for our British weather!
The planned shoot at Red Rocks would have been a bit silly on wet slippery rocks so its was off to Hoylake Prom for a few pictures in the gorgeous Bentley from Classic Bridal Cars
Soon it was time to head back to Marcos for the group photos – yay no rain now and we took some more portraits in the garden
The Garden room was beautifully decked out by Sapphire bespoke Events – stellar as always
Oh and what a treat all the guests had with Mike the Magician on hand to entertain
and not forgetting a so scrumptious Squidges cookie table – totally delicious – plus made for an interesting ring shot!
Entertainment was provide by Mike the Magician who wowed his audience as always with his tricks.
The evening DJ was Frank Keating of Wirral Wedding Parties and as always his Mr And Mrs Shoe game was fun and a talking point
Thank you Natasha and Alex – it was a pleasure to cover your wedding and we wish you much happiness and health for the future .
Love Sandy & Dave
