Santa Maria Seaside Boho Elopement Italy
How fabulous was this shoot on a workshop, led by the fablous Claire Penn, in Santa Maria di Castellabate during the Secret Retreat workshop
A loved up Italian couple, wow what chemistry Luigi and Antonia! …well they were married just a few days ago for real, it really shine through these images.
We were priviledged to be given access to the normally off limits summer palace and villa Sirena, by island of Licosia, belonging to the Prince and Princess of Belmonte.
Antonia’s dress is a genuine vintage 1960s Mexican wedding dress purchased from Etsy, perfectly complimeted by a feather headress and feather details in her barefoot sandals.
Luigi or Lu as he is know is local lead singer in a band. His styling was simple, his own clothes accesorised with a mustard bow tie, love those braces too!
The picture perfect picnic by the sea was masterminded by the uber talented Mandy Beck of Saddleworth Shindigs. She has a wealth of goodies in her aladdins cave treasure trove and squirreled some away for this shoot. The ceremony arbour hung in the trees was decorated with lace ribbons, feathers and hand made dreamcatchers. Mandy is so super talented.
A perfect laid back boho wedding elopement and picnic reception by the sea, doesn’t get more chilled out and idyllic than this!
An evening party ensued with good friends at the Azurro Lido on the beach, with music from Lu himself and lots of dancing…oh and fireworks on the beach, outstanding!
Hope you enjoy these images!

Elegant Black and White Festive Wedding
Our last wedding of 2015, and what a way to end a fantastic year with a Christmas wedding for Leanne and Scott, not quite the last day of the year but almost!
Scott and Leanne we had a fabulous day with you and overjoyed you had such a memorable day that we were privileged to capture for your memories.
Leanne and Scott childhood sweethearts, the only ones for each other, how special and romantic is that!
Been together 10 years and now an elegant black and white festive wedding for them at the beautiful Plas Hafod country House hotel sealed a perfect day.
Plas Hafod is a perfect winter wedding venue with it light airy conservatory room to make the most of winter light and also has ample room inside for group photos if needed.
This was the day of Storm Frank supposedly but it hardly bothered us, a little rain intermittently, but a breath of air for a few group shots and portraits was most refreshing.
Fantastic choice guys, hope you enjoy this little blog post of your highlights and wish you much continued happiness.

Winter Wedding at Belle Epoque – Rocking the Rain
Winter weddings and dark venues provide their own unique challenges and we wanted to expand our skills with new lighting techniques and chance to try new things out.
We like to constantly update our skill sets and portfolio without experimenting on an actual wedding so Jonny Draper’s trainging session “Are you afraid of the Dark” was an ideal opportunity.
So a drizzzly Novemebr evening we found ourselves at the Belle Epoque in Knutsford, renowned for being a difficult dark venue.
We were thrilled to discover that Sarah Sadler and her finance Rich would be modelling for us and generally being the loved up couple they are! Sarah herself is a fabulous photographer, she does such amazing, makeover, empowering Red Shoe Shoots – you really need to check out her site, read her about page and read real women’s stories…..so the shoe was on the other foot (pardon the pun!) and Sarah and Rich were in front of the camera, feeling a bit nervous and vulnerable…but everyone soon put them at ease. They were great and with Jonny explaiining and showing his simple lighting set ups we got some great shots …we even rocked the rain! Check out these shots!

All You Need is Love and a dog for a West Kirby Wedding !
All our weddings are special to us and our couples. We love to travel for destination weddings but equally a home West Kirby wedding is wonderful. In fact our bride is our neighbour across the road and thanks to our next door neighbour put us in touch!
So we were extra delighted to have an oh so local wedding and that Ruth and Simon shopped locally for their wedding suppliers. We couldn’t be much closer! It was literally round the corner to the hairdressers at Rooney Ponton, across the road for the bridal preps and then up the road to St Bridgets for the church service and a cake and prosecco local reception in the Church Hall afterwards. Flowers were from Eden Floral Designs who had cleverley used the tartan used at Ruth’s hen do into her bouquet and the buttonholes. Ruth’s bridal gown with its leg revealing front split was from Opulence in West Kirby.
Later we travelled a bit further down the road to Lower Heswall to Sheldrakes, so beautifully situated on the Dee Estuary for the evening speeches and party. Perfect venue for a reception and staff so accomodating not to mention the tasty elegant food. The room had been beautifully bedecked out by Ruth and her girls and balloons supplied by local West Kirby shop Party Paraphernalia.
The story of how Ruth and Simon met – walking their dogs along the prom in West Kirby was evident throughout the day with cute retro pictures, the cake topper and the plaque on the top table saying “All you Need is Love …and a dog. An amusing poem about Love (dog) was highlight of the speeches. Ruth is a runner (check out those legs!) and recently ran the Great Northern Rub, training Simon to run with her, adorned in a tutu and a ball and chain…typifying the fun loving people they are.
A Trickle of Happiness….
So many delightful original ideas and details went into the day, I must say Mim, Ruth’s daughter had a fantastic yet simple idea of setting up a guest book using personalised postcards for guests to write their messages on which would then be posted throughout their first year as “trickle of happiness”, so inventive and I know will be really appreciated.
So delighted that Ruth and Simon’s day was just want they wanted and they are delighted with their images, portraying their love for one another. So happy we got a special meaningful shot for them on their West Kirby promenade bench..the sun rays bursting through the clouds was just one of those perfect cannot be planned moments.
Ruth and Simon thank you for giving us such a privilege to capture your wedding and we wish you much continued happiness.
Here just a few highlights from the many of their images to tell their wedstory. Enjoy x
How cute are these little bottle people from www.littlebottles.co.uk !
Just perfect when we can get an impromptu spur of the moment sunset as guests are mingling before the speeches
Autumnal Brook Meadow Hotel Wedding
Who doesn’t love an autumn wedding? Soulmates Helen and Mark planned just such a day for their Brook Meadow Hotel Wedding. With beautiful grounds at this time of year, even if a bit wet you can always find places and good backdrops of colour.
Preps at the bride’s home, a lovely relaxed time with her sister as bridesmaid and Leah their adorable miracle daughter as a flower girl. Helen was keen to have pics at home before she left with her family so was ready well in time before we had to leave for the men at the venue. So lovely to get these shots for them , it doesn’t often happen unless getting ready at the ceremony venue.
First time we have covered a ceremony at Brook Meadow Hotel and what a gorgeous elegant room it is too, perfect for an elegant civil ceremony and then out for pictures before the wedding breakfast. As always on a wedding day schedules are flexible as timings may go astray but we just go with the flow of events and capture the stories and moments around us just as our couples love. The registrars were wonderful at calming any nerves and had amusing stories to tell if a hint of tears appeared beforehand. Mark’s sons did him proud as his best men, impeccably well mannered and gave such heartfelt speeches – yes I was crying again as I often do at weddings! It was hilarious to see Mark’s face when he saw the size of his haribo sweetie jar compared to all the others and oh spot the lego theme going on – the cake topper was so cute!
Mark and Helen so happy you had a wonderful relaxed day with your loved ones and thank you for letting us capture your memories. Much continued happiness coming your way. Sandy and Dave x
