Sunny Shades, Sunsets and Ice Cream at a Family Wedding

Romance blossomed on the local train platform for commuters Jen and Simon
They have been together some 14 years now and have a beautiful family
So now time to celebrate their love and commitment …not only with an eternity ring  but a wonderful wedding!

The whole day had such a relaxed happy feel to the day,Sandy was in sparkly ring heaven with the gorgeous details.
knowing Jen’s engagement ring  was designed with a grandmother’s diamond was even more special.
Bridal preps just flowed with chat and natural pics of Jennie with her daughter Ruby being pampered by good friend and make up artist Zoey
Ruby’s room just suited her to a T and made for some cute special  detail shots  for her too
Zoey is the partner for Simon’s best man – the taller one.  The shorter one being our couple’s son who later showed some great moves on the dance floor
Meanwhile the guys were getting ready at a nearby family home – it was great to be able to get both bride and groom preps captured.

The church – St Peter’s Lower Heswall  was packed for the ceremony.  Their were moist eyes as first the genteel minister lead Ruby in followed by Jen and her proud Dad
Jen walking towards her groom, looks down to see her son standing by his side, her daughter looking on, on the other side and the groom’s sister wiping a tear from her eye
it was a treasured moment. Charlie and Ruby almost stole the show with their reading, the obvious family closeness was a real joy to see during the ceremony

Afterwards whilst the bus did its first trip to nearby Sheldrakes we captured some family groups and a big group on the terrace at Sheldrakes as guests enjoyed the sunshine and canapes.  The flowers supplied by Lyndaflora were stunning  – the tables around the lower restaurant area were elegantly bedecked with tall vases with white and green flowers, simply stunning.
Soon time for the meal and speeches – interrupted by the sound of the approaching Showtime Ice-cream van.
Cue – kids streaming out  and running down to get their ices – popular with adults too later on a hot day.
Oh I think some were keeping an eye on an important  Eurpean final football game too, but will gloss over that :-/

The day soon followed into the evening, with cake cutting and dancing, look out for those special moves from Charlie doing the Floss dance.
Everyone had a fantastic day, loved all the moments captured and seeing the joy on people’s faces.
I said at the beginning of the day we were due a good sunset and Sheldrakes didn’t disappoint.
The colors and the boatyard provided some most memorable images
Jennie and Simon we wish you many many more years of happiness.Thank you for the privilege of capturing your day.

Please enjoy just  a few highlights from the many  love  Sandy & Dave xx

COLOURFUL NESS GARDEN WEDDING:  CLAIRE & NATHAN

Childhood sweethearts Claire and Nathan had a wonderful  May day Ness Garden wedding that went just as they wished for.
There was another well known Royal wedding happening this day too but our focus was firmly fixed on our couple and giving them the best experience and capturing memories for the day of their lives.

A ceremony first at Barnston Christchurch which was heartwarming and a surprise afterwards with their beloved dog appearing for some family pics!
The Botanical Gardens at Ness are a wonderful haven to explore any time of year, always something different to experience.
May though was a perfect time with he blossom the colours of the bluebells and Acers.  The handkerchief tree was a lovely surprise too.

The day just flowed perfectly from teh church with a few pics to the arrival at the rock gardens, a relaxed private space for canapes and speeches
Guests could then explore the beautiful gardens before enjoying the wedding breakfast feast. After the meal is was the perfect time for some shots on teh newly opened terrace off the conservatory reception room
The softer light made for some gorgeous images with teh vibrant colours of teh blossoms and flowers.

The evening festivities kicked off with a Ceilidh dance, something that everyone enjoyed and could participate in , so much fun
Table tennis and table top soccer also kept guests entertained.

Claire and Nathan we so enjoyed your Ness Garden Wedding – our first here but hope it won’t be the last.
Enjoy your highlights and we look forward to creating your beautiful album.

Royal Liver Building Boardroom Wedding

Royal Liver Building Boardroom Wedding

Barbara & Colin’s Intimate Royal Liver Building Wedding

Its not everyday that the Royal Liver Building Boardroom is used for a wedding so it was a great pleasure to be asked to capture Colin and Barbara’s day here early in May.
The iconic Liver Building, a wonderful setting for a Liverpool city centre wedding and perfect for an elegant intimate ceremony and  private reception.
A really bright sunny day – we really have been blessed with good weather for the Bank Holiday this May.
Very much a family wedding with Barbara and Colin arriving together and walking into the room with a line up of Colin’s Dad and their respective sons to greet them

A beautiful ceremony in the Royal Liver Building boardroom, with its warm wood panelling, ornate ceiling and Liver bird motifs and of course river views of teh Mersey.
A relaxed wedding, lots of giggles and smiles. Even a few kisses before the official first kiss!
Soon it was time for celebratory drinks and canapes before heading to the nearby St Nicholas Gardens for some family pictures. – spot another Liver Bird in the gardens!
On the way down there was a stop at the balcony for some pictures too of the couple.  Their joy really was infectious!

A meal followed after a short speech from one of the sons, again in the boardroom.  Later celebrations were to take place at Panoramic 34, one of the UK’s highest restaurants
So glad you had a wonderful time Barbara and Colin, such a joy to capture your obvious happiness.
We wish you many more happy years, love Sandy & Dave x

Nature Hike Hardcastle Crags

A sunny may day and we really enjoyed this afternoon stroll with Janine and Bryan for their Hardcastle Crags photo shoot prior to their destination wedding.
Hardcastle Crags is not far from Hebden Bridge, a quirky boho mill town in West Yorkshire. Its claim to fame more recently as a childhood home of musician Ed Sheeran.
Check out more info on this  town with these 10 fascinating facts about  Hebden Bridge
Hardcastle Crags is a National trust property but free to enter – just a car parking charge for the day
Our visit was perfectly timed for Bluebell season and the woodlands were awash with their colourful blooms.

Gibson Mill Woodland Wedding Venue

There are several paths at Hardcastle Crags to enjoy – it used to be home to a railway and a mill. We opted for the Mill path to Gibson’s Mill  along the river bank.
Trail maps and info can be picked up at the info point.  The trails are all coloured coded and have matching way markers along the routes.
The Mill itself a handy spot for a lunch break and a break between other trails.Did you know you can also get married at Gibson Mill ?
A perfect location for couples looking for something a bit different and with wonderful photo opportunities a round.
An ideal woodland wedding venue setting for outdoor types

Upcoming Wedding in Italy

The stroll in the woodlands with little streams, weirs, waterfalls and mill ponds was idyllic for Janine and Bryan’s prewed shoot here
We had such fun and will provide an amazing contrast to their wedding in Italy. A contrast of shoots is something we always suggest
Its not long  now either for their long awaited day In Santa Maria di Castellabate in Itay.
We are looking forward to their ceremony atop the Torre Perotti with its stunning views over the Cliento Coast and to working with mysecretitaly
A magical place to marry on the rooftop of an Italian palazzo

For now enjoy a few highlights amongst the moor and woodlands of West Yorkshire!

Trafford Hall Rustic Wedding Shoot

Rustic Cheshire Georgian Venue

We were blessed to work with amazing creative wedding professionals on this Trafford Hall Rustic Wedding shoot.
We just love collaborating with each other, networking and supporting each other with social media campaigns and images.
So just recently we met up at  the delightful Trafford Hall , a wonderful Georgian House with on site accommodation for guests wishing to stay over.
This charming rustic venue can be decorated as you wish and enjoys delightful woodland, lawns and sunken garden areas for umpteem photo opportunities for your wedding photography.  As photographers we love coming here.  The staff are really welcoming too and will happily advise on plans for your day.

For this shoot  the decor was supplied by Sweetpea & Ivy They love this venue and have dressed Traffordd Hall many times.  Always love their rustic styling, perfect for this venue.  This time they provided an outdoor ceremony area  and a fabulous barrel table laden with cakes and sweets created by Bella’s Cake Pantry
The delicious cakes and cake pops were were from Sue’s water colour and silver leaf collection. Scrumptious!

Indoor Decor

Place cards and menus by Pink Sherbet Stationery  perfectly matched the colour scheme on the tables set up by Sweetpea and Ivy and Wirral Table and Chair Hire The tables were adorned with evergreen leaves and candles in a long wooden container, creating a warm cosy touch.  Little cut glass vases with peach roses  added the touch of colour to the table. The backs of the chairs were adorned with soft pastel swags, tied in the middle with a complimentary satin ribbon. The wooden floors and giant light up LOVE letters either side of the fireplace completed the elegant rusticl ook.

Pixsmiths Creative Photograph had a great time photographing the amazing Katey Elizabeth  around the venue in a gorgeous dress supplied by The Wirral Wedding House  The dress is a hand finished bohemian style beaded gown from Romantica of Devon.
Suited Katey so well, she made a fabulous Boho Bride!
