A bright but breezy bank Holiday Monday saw us in Flint, North Wales with Lesley and Stephen for their pre-wed shoot. Being by the coast the castle area was a bit windy for long hair and short dresses but we managed to find some shelter inside by the castle walls before making our way to the beautiful venue of Soughton Hall, where Lesley and Stephen will have their wedding reception in September. Soughton Hall is an exclusive Hotel in Flintshire, gorgeous tree-lined driveway up and then you see it in all its splendour. Its rightly regarded as a most sought after venue – no pun intended!. The gardens will provide a colourful, beautiful setting for their wedding photos. A timely shoot too as Stephen was soon to be leaving to Paris for a new job. Lesley will be busy not only with the wedding now but also planning to move home…hmm perhaps we should have left the shoot a little while longer and then gone to Paris 😉
Anyway despite the wind we got some shots for our happy couple and enjoyed chatting and having lunch with them at the Stables Bar Restaurant, Soughton Hall – thank you Stephen and Lesley for lunch!
Hope all the plans go OK and we are so looking forward to your wedding and capturing the day for you.
Just back from North Wales and couldn’t wait to share a picture from Lesley and Stephen’s pre-wed shoot in Flint.
What glorious weather we are having this Easter! Matt and Sue were acclimatising for their overseas wedding – they flew off yesterday. Now a trip to Mauritius would have been lovely but we are happy to be covering their blessing at St Mary’s in Upton, Wirral and evening celebration at the end of May. Time first this Easter Monday though for a pre-wed shoot as we enjoyed a walk and talk in West Kirby. We really are spoilt for locations with the park, the beach and the marina to choose from. We are just 2 minutes walk from the marina as are Matt and Sue who live just a couple of streets away from us. In fact we have another couple in the same road to them, marrying just a month later!
Sandy enjoyed using her new macro 105 mm prime lens – super sharp, with lovely boketh – for some sneaky close up shots. Great lens for portraits as well as ring shots! Always good to have a range of shots, so Dave kept to the main 24-70 lens. In case you think some of these scenes look familiar, yes this is where some of the filming for Candy Cabs was done!
Matt and Sue hope you enjoyed the session we look forward to seeing you on your return and capturing your wedding part 2 🙂
Pixsmiths were delighted to cover the wedding of Mark and Heddus at Rossett Hall, North Wales. A late Sunday afternoon wedding so we had plenty of time to arrive early and enjoy a delicious lunch at the Hotel’s Oscar’s Restaurant – the cheesecake was divine, worth a re-visit just for that alone.
The wedding was a sunny affair and the Welsh theme was vey evident in all the details. The colour scheme of red, green and ivory chosen to complement the colours of the Welsh flag. Mark and his best man had Welsh dragon cufflinks, Heddus said her vows in Welsh and Mark in English. Lovesppoons for the ladies and slate coasters for the men formed the table favours – the red dragon on the coasters made an ideal backing for a ring shot. The wedding rings were welsh gold clodau rings and had the welsh word for love “Carriad” inscribed inside – a specifc request for us to capture, and a good excuse to get a new macro lens 🙂 The table seating plan took te form of asmall bird cage, bedecked with colouful deatils and tags listing their family and friends. The welcome drinks even spelt out their names!
Heddus entered the ceremony with her daughter as the Welsh ladies choir, that Heddus belongs to, sang beautifully. Our thanks to the staff at Rossett Hall who made us welcome and gave us access to the room for the overhead group shot. A very joyous occasion and happy to capture those special moments. Wishing you both contined happiness for the future Mark and Heddus! Below are a few favourite images On-line gallery is now available too
Matt and Sue are off to Mauritius very soon for their wedding, shame we are not going with them but we will have the pleasure of covering their blessing once they return.
For now a sneak peak of a photo session we had with them this sunny Easter Monday.
