Autumnal colours and white parasols where the order for the day for Stephen and Belinda’s joyous wedding at Aston by Stone Church followed by a reception at the stunning venue of Sandon Hall. Couple of pics here whilst sorting the many others.
Next wedding coming up is at Sandon Hal in Staffordshire. We had the opportunity to visit this ancestral home of the Earls of Harrowby at the weekend when the the weather was clear and bright A beautiful stately house, the drive up through fields with grazing cattle and pheasants running all over the place like roadrunners was delightfull, especially with the golden autumn colours. Hope it stays that way for our bridal couple! Whatever the weather, there are features a plenty inside for the photographs. Plenty of long windows let the light in and afford grand views out to the extensive gardens. Wooden staircase and arches lead into a room suitable for about 85 -100 guests. Small parties can be accommodated in a more intimate dining room. Upstairs are period dressed rooms , loved the pheasant wallpaper, obviously a feature for the estate, and a balcony is available for overhead shots, ideal for those group pictures. Weddings ceremonies can take place in the estate church if resident in the area, whilst civil ceremonies take place in the library, a beautiful room looking out onto the gardens. The library can also be used for indoor photos after a ceremony too if weather is inclement. Always helpful to have a plan B!. An ornate conservatory with bar area provides a perfect place for drinks afterwards and for some cool bridal shots. Our thanks to Jon Guard the manager for showing us around this gorgeous stately home, can hardly wait to be back and taking the wedding shoot here.
On the way out we spoke to a couple who were visiting venues for their daughter who was currently in Australia – hope these pictures taken will give an understanding of how beautiful this venue is which somehow mixes grandeur with cosiness.
Further to the sneak peek of Gemma and Sean’s wedding at Leasowe Castle here are some more pictures from their happy wedding day, 1st October 2010. As said before a an intimate family wedding and reception held in the historic Star Chamber. The rain did not dampen their happiness one little bit, the smiles and laughter continued all day long. It was a fun-filled day from morning to evening, we loved capturing all the smiles. Many many congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Dowd , may your happiness grow even more 🙂 Progress is going well with the wedding album, by the time the honeymooners are back it should be ready for their approval 🙂

Its was a lovely sunny afternoon and time to meet up with Gemma and Sean for a get to know you and pre-wedding shoot session. We had previously met Gemma when she booked us for her wedding photography but had yet to meet with Sean. They are a super couple and we quickly put them at their ease as we walked around their chosen venue of Leasowe Castle and went through some poses and candid shots with them. Any fears that Sean wouldn’t smile easily were soon dispelled, they were just so natural and happy with each other, it was such a pleasure to see. We find these little sessions a really important part of the pre-wedding preparations which is why we include it in our photography packages. Images will be used on mini business cards and made available for wedding guests, giving our contact details and on-line gallery instructions for perusal of Gemma and Shaun’s wedding images. We are really looking forward to their wedding in a few weeks time. For now some of the images taken this afternoon.
Thus week we had a brief pre-wedding shoot with Steve and Belinda who are getting married in Stafford, followed by a reception at the exclusive Sandon Hall. in October.
It was a little bit rushed, Steve is a busy doctor and came home from the hospital in the evening for this quick shoot. We have another visit planned with them to look round their chosen wedding venue so will get some more shots then. The evening sunshine was delightful and their garden provided a lovely setting for the photographs. Steve’s beautiful daughter, Isabella, and Belinda’s beloved dog, Daisy kept our cameras clicking whilst we waited for Steve. They were perfect models, which is great as both are going to be bridesmaids!
