Reminiscing – Review of 2016
Ah what a wonderful year 2016 was, one of our busiest so far. So time for Pixsmiths review of 2016
We’ve laughed at all the funny moments and heart leapt at all the special looks our wonderful couples give each other.
We’ve cried when we know brides have lost special family members just months later…and humbled that we have given memories for them to hold onto in the dark days after
and the joy that they will recall from them. We started with a Valentines day weddign and ended with fireworks in December – a packed year!
From parks to palazzos, hotels to zoos, from beaches to rustic barns its been a year of discovering new places and challenges for old favourites.
We’ve been there from early on in the preps to party time at night with fireworks late into the night
Most of all we want to thank all our amazing couples for choosing us to capture their da, without you we simply couldn’t do this!
Also to all the wonderful suppliers we meet along the way and who support us on the day>
We look forward to meeting all our 2017 couples and new adventures we will have throughout this year
For now just a teeny look back at some moments from 2016 – enjoy the review of 2016
Wirral Radio Wedding Winners Nikki And Mike Engagement Shoot
We were relaxing in a Swiss mountain hut after a long day’s hike tuning in to Wirral Radio to hear who were the Wirral Radio Wedding winners from the Mr and Mrs competition held at Holiday Inn Cheshire oaks in July. It went to a tense tie breaker but at last the lucky winners of this fabulous wedding prize were announced as Nikki and Mike , such a deserving couple.
The elements of the wedding prize have all been donated from the wonderful suppliers of Wirral Professional Wedding Services …you can see the list of suppliers here and exactly what Nikki and Mike will receive – over £10,000 worth of services.
The wedding will take place in April 2017 and Nikki and Mike have already been busy choosing dresses, rings invitations etc..
First though an engagement shoot with us! After quite a few Facebook chats it was lovely to finally meet for real. Nikki and Mike have had ther share of life’s heartbreak and even amidst this have been courageous fund raisers for Alderhey. So this shoot was just for them a chance for a breather from the demands of family life and a whirlwind of wedding planning…a time for just them … together.
Autumn is a great time for engagement shoot with the glorious colours ..and there was certainly red in abundance at Burton Manor gardens – our chosen location, picked for its calmness and faded charm of the gardens which we had to ourselves ..perfect if a couple are a bit shy. Well Nikki and Mike soon relaxed with us and you can see from their giggles and smiles they really enjoyed this time.
They made the most of some alone time when we had to leave for our next shoot and explored these gardens by themselves. Deserved quality time .
Wishing you well for the rest of your planning Nikki and Mike, worth Wirral Radio Wedding Winners. So happy you have found all the suppliers lovely and supportive of each other too.
Enjoy these few images that we had the great pleasure to take for you.
Oh and isn’t this Manor gorgeous! …well if you have spare 1.8 million its currently up for sale!
Asian Wedding Party : Thornton Hall Hotel
Such a colourful fun affair for Sanaya and Satal and their friends and family at their Asian wedding party at Thornton Hall Hotel
A packed room to celebrate the upcoming wedding in the next couple of days (blog post to follow!)
Colourful bangles for the guests to go with all the myriad colours of the ladies saris.
Sanaya was presented with so many gifts in a special ceremony, involving rice, henna, bracelets and coconut amongst other items!
Good food to enjoy and then some unusual dancing! – I’ll let the pictures do the talking for that!
In all a splendid fun occasion, lots of laughter and joy and dancing to entertain everyone at this Asian wedding party.
Pre-Wedding Shoot Jenny and Paul
Ooh this couple are getting married tomorrow!! So just in time with their pre-wedding shoot
A blustery bright day at Thurstaston and Jenny and Paul were great sports, coping with the wind and being patient whilst we had to move to calmer spots!
Its easy to see how much they care for each other and that we had a giggle or two along the way.
Sorry no ring shot – Jenny’s ring was in for cleaning but of course we will get some on the wedding day.
Cameras all packed and ready for tomorrow see you soon guys!
hope you enjoy these few images, just a selection of the many that Jenny and Paul will receive with their wedding images.
Engagement Shoot Chester Zoo: Jenna and Johnny
A Sunday afternoon a month or so before their Chester Zoo wedding was a perfect time to catch up with Jenna and Johnny and do their engagement shoot.
Not many know that the Zoo can acomodate weddings – ceremonies and receptions.
One of the lovely things about Chester Zoo weddings is that the Zoo allow the couple to bring their photographers in to locate and discuss where they would like their shots taken.
Chester Zoo is so sprawled out now that it needs proper planning to prepare for the day”s events.
so that is just what we did we walked arounfd with Jenna and Johnny to scout out where they wanted their images after their ceremony at Oakfield Manor.
Then we made the most of the afternoon and spent some time have a drink, checking time schedules and going over to the new Island section -really loved it there so colourful and vibrant.
Taking engagement pictures at the Islands will provide a contrast to their wedding day images, as its unlikely we will get this far on the wedding day.
We were delighted to see so many animals out that were normally hiding or sleeping too and look forward to seeing more next month at their weddding and safari tour of Chester Zoo.
Quite appropriate to grab a shot, saying your Island Epedition is over ..but your journety continues! Well for Jenna and Johnny the journey continues next month!
Below just a few of the images that will be delivered with the wedding images. Hope you enjoy and check back for more next month!
hmmm pity this wasn’t during the Brexit debate!
Belmonte Palazzo Engagement Shoot: Stephanie and Barry
Even before their wedding in gorgeous Santa Maria di Castellabate, Salerno, on the Cliento coast of Italy Barry and Stephanie fell in love with the area and for sure will be returning. We were staying in the wonderful Belmonte Palace – were Sandy had shot at last year on the Secret Retreat Italian wedding workshop. The Palace is so handy for the town centre with all its restaurants and also for the beach with its own private access.
So we showed our couple around and took the opportunity to get a few shots to get them used to being photographed on their wedding day just two days later. The grounds of the Belmonte Palace are a green oasis from the town and beach so provided a perfect contrast to their wedding images we would capture later on in the week. It also gave Stephanie and Barry a little breathing space from the family and friends staying with them in their villa…always good to have a little “us time”.
Enjoy a few of their images here..if you would like an engagement shoot whether locally or co-inciding with travels we’d love to hear from you.
Watch out for the blog post of their beach wedding at the Lido coming soon!
