Intimate Liverpool Town Hall Wedding: Jennie & Simon

Just last week  Pixsmiths had the pleasure of kicking off our 2018 wedding season with a delightful intimate Liverpool Town Hall wedding for Jennie and Simon
A cold brisk but dry day for the gathering of family at Liverpool’s Town Hall.  A splendid grade I listed building, one of the finest  Town Halls from the 18th century.
Situated in the heart of Liverpool’s cultural centre Its civic rooms are a complete example of late Georgian decoration with its portraits and chandeliers.
Well worth a tour – check out website for details.

Jennie and Simon booked us just a few weeks before their wedding – one of our special midweek packages we are available for.
So happy, even though a short  wedding package they appreciated having professional  quality images to mark their special day.
Dave happily captured the couples arrival.  Jennie with her mum who was  understandably emotional at her daughters’s wedding.
Jennie looking so elegant in her lace knee length dress with beautiful back button detail.
The bridal bouquet was a beautiful mix of purple flowers, white roses and thistles with green leaves interspersed.

City Chic Intimate Liverpool Town Hal Wedding

Jennie was pleasantly surprised to see the screen announcement in the foyer for their wedding
Soon it was time for the ceremony, such an elegant room befitting our couple.  Vows were made in front of their immediate family to much joy.
No bridesmaids of groomsmen just a simple beautiful couple and their family.
Ceremony captured and it was time for a few family groups and then couple emerged joyously for some couple shots before heading to 30 James St for their private meal.
The Chinese lanterns from the recent Chinese New Year celebrations added wonderful splash of red to the square along with the telephone boxes.

30 James St Reception

Only a short walk to 30 James St, but cold enough when you have a lace dress on, so not surprisingly Jennie was wrapped up in her coat.
Their room balcony made for some extra shots over the Liverpool skyline as Jennie and Simon  enjoyed the late February sunshine before they were left to enjoy their meal.
A table set up for their party was ideal for this city chic intimate wedding reception.

Many congratulations Jennie and Simon we wish you much happiness enjoy your blog highlights

Relaxed Sheldrakes Wedding: Toni & Andy

We are delighted to be a preferred relaxed Sheldrakes Wedding Photographer.
We simply love coming to this contemporary venue with its wonderful views over the Dee Estuary
and appreciate the wonderful staff who recommend us

We have covered full day weddings here, receptions and evening celebrations after a destination wedding
See our Sheldrakes wedding archives.

Toni and Andrew asked us to cover prior to the ceremony afterwards for a few hours to get the all important group and candid shots
We had a delightful few hours with them, covering up to speeches as they were before their buffet Dave covered those as Sandy did a ring shot
Teamwork with Pixsmiths!

The ceremony was one of the shortest available, the vows are made as they exchange rings
So it was soon time to grab a few groups and portraits before the speeches.

We loved all the details!
Toni’s dress was cleverly adapted from two dresses by the amazing team at Bridal Elegance
The bridesmaids’ dresses were a gorgeous turquoise colour, not a colour often seen but loved it
Toni’s mum did all the flowers and arrangements, the registrar table looked amazing with the flower decor
Lots of jars and vintage touches.  In particular the “guest book” consisted of “Message in a bottle”  Genius idea!
A Travel suitcase for the cards and a beautiful cake with new surname topper gracing the reception table

Many congratulations guys, we loved being with you and capturing some memories of your fabulous day
Wishing you much love and happiness

Hallmark Hotel Queen Chester Wedding

City Chic Queen Hotel Chester Wedding

Queen Hote Chester wedding

Such an  enjoyable day at the Best Western Queen Hotel for the Chester wedding of Alison and Ellis
A grand quirky victorian hotel  (formerly a Hallmark Hotel) with oodles of character and handily placed by Chester train station
A day that ran smoothly, on arrival we bumped in to Ellis arriving for breakfast with the co-ordinator so we soon had the requested stair shot organised.

Queen Hotel Chester Wedding Bridal preps

The vibe in the Lily Langtry suite was relaxed. Lots of banter with the bridesmaids taking selfies in-between being made up by Emma Lampkin of Emmaculate – and the make up was!
Ellis was also getting ready at the hotel, just the other end of the corridor in a room where Charles Darwin had stayed
….so easy for us to cover both preps.
A plus point when the ceremony is at the same location.

We used the roman statue as a setting for one of our ring shots.   Rings were made by Roger Ho, custom made as Alison and Ellis had some rings from parents/grandparents to use and adapt. He did such a beautiful job, Alison said,” I  can’t stop looking at my ring!”

Staff wonderfully organised, attentive and excellent communication throughout made for a smooth-running day and such an enjoyable one.
Guests made their way after the ceremony for a staircase shot and then went for the drinks in the outdoor courtyard.
Easy to mingle there and then call  the family groups required quickly and easily

The wedding breakfast was in the turned around ceremony room and was beautifully set up in pinks and big dish bowls by Eva Adore venue dressing
Alison and Ellis were blown away when they checked out the room, they were so happy, Such a wonderful day for them
Again weather was not too hot and the rain stayed off all day – not bad for a bank Holiday weekend!

The evening reception at the Queen Hotel was in the large Colonnades Room to accommodate all the extra evening guests.
Cake cut with one of the large ceremonial swords and then party time.
Pizza fish and chips and  a doughnut wall o enjoy as well as fun in the photo-booth provided by Plushbooths

Thank you again Alison and Ellis for having us capture your Queen Hotel Chester Wedding  – it was so enjoyable and we wish you much love and  happiness
So going to enjoy building a beautiful album for your keepsake, going to be a hard choice for the images.
Thank you again also to the staff at this Hallmark Hotel – we do hope we will be back for another Queens Hotel Chester wedding
