6 Intimate and Alternative Wirral Wedding Venues

6 Intimate and Alternative weddings

So from 4th July, we are allowed to have small weddings ..it’s a start!  Small, intimate alternative wedding venues have suddenly become popular!
Guess many will want to wait for the full-on wedding day celebration experience.
Some just want to get married with a few family in attendance and have the big party later – absolutely fine too.
Pixsmiths are happy to accommodate our couples’ wishes with various options – communication is the key to rearranging successfully
For now, however, small intimate weddings are where we are at  and Pixsmiths are looking forward to ours starting in August

Facebook pages have been awash with brides looking for small intimate/alternative venues, venues which many don’t know about or have thought about.
So with that in mind wanted to look at some local small intimate venues and alternative wedding venue options to consider.
Mere Brook House

and Peel Hey as two of our favorites have already been covered so this blog will look at other options less well known

#1 Pollards Inn

Tucked away in the beautiful Cheshire village of Willaston is the quaint Pollards Inn.
Not only a delightful place for a meal or a drink after a walk around the historic village but did you know there is  also an intimate function room at Pollard’s Inn
A cosy room with an ornate fireplace.  No room hire charge either, bonus!
You can enjoy the garden area outside in fine weather and children have their own adjacent play area too.
For when larger weddings are permitted a marquee can be used on the field just the other side of the play area and Pollards can provide the catering.
5 rooms have also recently been renovated too if guests wish to stay over.
Read all about how a wedding here look with the  Willaston Wedding of Phil and Stephanie.
They enjoyed a church service in the local church unique pictures at Hadlow Road and then their marquee reception.

#2 Poulton Hall

Could this be Wirral’s hidden gem?  Poulton Hall is a gorgeous 17th-century country house close to Bebbington. There are glorious unique walled gardens and sculptures, with 3.5 acres of picturesque wildflower meadows. perfect for your wedding photos.  The gardens are only open twice a year to the public – the two recent date in April this year had to be postponed, but keep a lookout for new dates
The gardens have themed areas – Japanese, nursery rhyme classical and a witch’s garden, and contain references to literary and children’s classics of C. S. Lewis, Lewis Carroll and Roger Lancelyn Green.
A wedding picture with Humpty Dumpty would certainly be unique!  if you are planning a wedding here we would love to be involved.

Tea and refreshments in the cafe available too
Pixsmiths had the honour of covering the first Wedding at the Williamson  in gallery 4.  Pama and Paul signed their marriage certificate under the Battle of Waterloo!

#5 Tanskey’s Bistro Bar

Thinking outside the box you could have your town hall ceremony and go to a restaurant  for a family meal or a cafe-bar  like Tanskey’s
Local for us in West Kirby, beautifully situated overlooking the promenade with its fabulous views and sunsets over the Dee Estuary.
behind you have the coronation gardens – you could have a picnic here.
Tanskey’s is available for private functions and events so it’s well worth checking out options here for a small intimate wedding reception
Food is all homemade and delicious. We have enjoyed many a cafe and coffee in here and also a movie night
Currently closed but reopening very soon.

Surprise Claremont Farm Wedding

Town & Country Surprise wedding

Well what a joyous day for Helen & Steve for their surprise Claremont Farm wedding!
Their friends and family were primed to meet at Claremont Farm for a day of activities for Helen’s special birthday.
Two vintage red buses greeted the guests with birthday special on the front.
Well these drink laden party buses were there to take everyone to Liverpool for  Helen and Steve’s wedding
Even Sisters, mum, and dads had been kept in the dark about the day’s plans.

The looks of surprise and joy on people’s faces were really special to witness.
A first look for Steve and Helen and then a group shot with the buses and time to get going to Liverpool
Helen was wearing  a beautiful beaded champagne coloured dress.

This was a day of making memories, and that is exactly what they did.
A blustery wind in town but at least it stayed dry, everyone was in good spirits.
Helen and Steve entered the Grand Jury room together  to cheers with the Star Wars theme- such a joyous entrance
With the cold weather, we opted for a group shot in the courtroom

Afterwards, a few groups and confetti and then back to the bus to continue the party!

Claremont Farm has an amazing deli and coffee shop.  The room upstairs was used for the reception and how lovely and informal it was
Food was so tasty, really need to come back for lunch here. Warming bowls of scouse or curry went down a storm for the guests. Perfect for a chilly day.

Bride at Claremont Farm for evening reception

Heartwarming speeches were made, Helen got emotional over the loss of family members, wondering how she could stand on her wedding day without them
..but how much worse would it without her mum and dad.  It was time to get wed and make memories
…and make memories they certainly did.   Love ladders with pictures of loved ones not able to be present were a touching way to include them
No birthday cards or present s were required just for guests to enjoy themselves

A local band had everyone on their feet dancing the night away. ProBooth were also on hand with a selfie mirror to entertain the guests
They were so popular lots of fun poses to create these memories.
Double  cake delight – one for Helen’s 50th  decorated with animals and a wedding one with a New York City towers on it
..a reminder of where Steve surprised Helen with a proposal on top of the Rock …presenting a rock!
