Such a pleasure to capture this couple’s Leasowe Castle Wedding day.
Such a fun-loving couple as we found out on their pre-wedding shoot
With Chris being a keen photographer himself we knew how important images were
We were delighted they booked us to capture their day
Wedding Day Preps
An early 11.00am ceremony meant an early start for us at the hair Salon Imagine near their home.
Bride 3 bridesmaids, flower girl and various relatives all getting ready-made for a busy time there but all relaxed and a great start to the day mingling with the girls.
meanwhile, the guys were getting ready at Leasowe Castle
We got some details and getting ready shots at the home later before heading to the church – St Joseph’s just a few minutes away.
Adored Kathryn’s dress from Tiffany’s – a Ronald Joyce design with a boat neckline and lace sleeved and bodice – just divine and so suited her
– Realised later this came off to give a different look for the evening – what a clever idea!
Wedding Ceremony
We love shooting at St Joseph’s in Birkenhead we can cover great angles from the front and beautiful overviews from the balcony at the back.
Kathryn looked radiant as her Dad in his Sailor’s uniform escorted his daughter to her waiting groom.
Kathryn opted to have her veil over as she made her entrance – a tradition we love for a church wedding
You could see from Chris’s face when we saw Kathryn at the altar how blown away he was with his bride.
Lets not forget Mac their dog too who was happy to be present for the ceremony and looked so cute in his bow tie.
A short Catholic ceremony – just readings and vows so it was soon out for a few groups and then whisked off to Leasowe Castle for a few portraits.
The Leasowe Castle wedding breakfast was bang on time for sitting down at 1.30pm.
Chris and Kathryn were played in by a surprise bagpiper.
Leasowe Castle Wedding Reception
The Castle Suite looked fabulous, being dressed by Embrace Events. The favours of bottles of Limoncello was reference to Italy where they got engaged during a boat trip to Positano
Lovely to see that Chris’s aunt who lives in the beautiful Amalfi coastal town of Positano made the trip over for the wedding.
Time to eat and then speeches after the meal. Being an early reception we had plenty of time for a few more portraits around the Leasowe Castle
Evening entertainment provided by Boothtube went down well as did the sweet cart, cupcakes, and doughnuts!
What a wonderful day you had Kathryn and Chris and so happy we could share your day>
Lovely to work alongside your uni friend of Jo Gendle films too, as we both enjoy an unobtrusive style.
Wishing you much happiness love Sandy & Dave x

Rachael and Jon Got Married!Leasowe Castle wedding Photography
Relaxed Bridal Preps
Rachael and Jon had long planned their St Nicholas Church and Leasowe Castle wedding for spring of 2017. They had booked Pixsmiths Creative Photography almost 2 years in advance and we loved following their wedding planning journey with them. We love to start bridal preps a good two hours before a ceremony,. A relaxed time of mingling with the girls as they are being pampered for the day Rachael lost an amazing 5 stone for her wedding – a real inspiration – too and looked absolutely stunning in her dress from Cherish The Bride. We did hear the story of how a smaller sized dress was obtained right at the last chance!
Personal touches in the Ceremony
The men opted to arrive at St Nicholas in Wallsey on their motorbikes so that was great fun and good for the video which we know Rachael will not regret. Always good to work with Rob Whibley from Action Wedding Videos too, we both have an unobtrusive style> Rachael and her bridesmaid arrived more traditionally in the luxury Bentley’s of Classic Bridal Cars Mark and Jane excelled at looking after the girls, always so attentive and keeping them calm, on hand with tissue/umbrellas etc as needed. The ceremony itself was a touching personal service for Rachael and Jon. ~ The Rev Jeff Staples pulled out his guitar and along with the choir gave a special rendition of Hallelujah with had our couple laughing and crying with joy. Even Rev Jeff himself wiped a tear from his eye. The rain made a short appearance towards end of ceremony – we managed to get the big group and confetti outside and then opted for a few formals inside – it can tend to be windy in this location! As they came out again we had this amazing leap from Jon – they both looked so happy and so glad we could capture this a real moment in the day.
Reception in the Turret Suite
On to Leasowe Castle – Rachael breaking with tradition (we love a bit of non-tradition!) by travelling with her dad again as the boys rode their bikes to the Castle Time for some sweet portraits – the spring flowers in the woodland garden added a lovely splash of colour. The Turret suite, a more intimate room for weddings, was bedecked with navy colours to for their colour scheme and Dvelin Designs made a fabulous job with the travel map seating plan and amusing table names appropriate to them and their upcoming amazing round the world mega honeymoon. We left them to enjoy their meal in peace and pooped back in for the speeches – always a favourite part of the day too for us. Such a hilarious moment when Rachael’s Dad pulled out his speech notes, made on Ladbrokes betting sllips with “HELP” spelt out on the back.
Party Time
Speeches done and now with evening guests arriving it was time to party. Lots of fun with the chocolate fountain and Photobooth from Pixelbooth went down a treat Everyone one had a fabulous time – some memorable dances, including a special one for Rachael and her dad. It was really touching to see the closeness of families and friends. and its a cliche but a day that meant the world to Rachael and Jon Thank you for giving us the privilege of sharing your amazing day, Your joy was so evident and thank you for being so expressive. A fantastic day to start our wedding season. Have an amazing honeymoon and every happiness ahead. Love and hugs Sandy & Dave xx

So when you want a weddign with a difference what do you do? Well have a Gothic Halloween wedding at a castle and invite friends and family to come in fancy dress or black attire for the occasion
That’s exactly what Emma and Aidan had planned. They didn’t want a traditional wedding as such so had a simple ceremony in the keep at Leasowe Castle straight in to a Twilight evening party reception.
Their theme was red and black of course. Emma looked stunning in her Gothic wedding dress – black and red and her two girls made adorable witches with their brooms and cauldrons ..full of jelly sweets. Chique Hairandbeauty in Moreton did a fantastic job with Emma’s hair and make up too. Emma’s most unusual bouquet was by Amy in Memories – Birkenhead loved the spiders in it and a fab setting for a sparkly ring shot. The red and black cake fitted the theme perfectly was by Susan Chedotal and was topped with salt and pepper vampire cruets. LouLee Gifts who made our very unique invitations and a brilliant wedding essentials bag.for Emma. The ever popular Mike Jones entertained Emma and Aidan and guests with some fantastic close up magic, – these were her thank yous and recommendations..
Of course Pixsmiths were delighted to cover such an unusual wedding. Sandy has known Emma for a while and this was always going to be her style of things and so happy it went just as she and Aidan wished. Leasowe Castle was a perfect setting for their Gothic Halloween wedding and even the weather co-operated with some spooky fog!
Aidan and Emma what a great time you had, it was lovely to be with you and see all your guests entering into the spirit of things to make your night perfect.
Made for a unique bridal party portrait! much love Sandy and Dave x
