We so looked forward to this Cristal Thronton Hall Wedding, and it didn’t disappoint. Ever since Sophie contacted us, such a heartwarming email, we knew we were the perfect match for each other, to capture their wedding story Sophie had been searching for her perfect photographers and came across our website.
I love how natural your photos are capturing such special moments. It feels like this is exactly what we have been looking for! Our wedding is 27th July 2019
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you are free and available to shoot our day!
How lovely is that! A meeting was set and Sophie’s bubbly nature won our hearts, a sparkly wedding was on the cards! Their wedding in 3 words was laughing romantic and happy and it certainly lived up to that. Don’t t think these too stopped laughing and smiling all day long.
Bridal & Groom Preps
Sophie had a whole army of bridemaids and flower girls to support her. Made sense for them to have their pampering done at a local salon, The Colour bar in Oxton did a fantastic job and the tone of the day was set with the prosecco flowing. Back to her parental home for final finishes, and then getting into her fairytale wedding dress by Opulence and sparkly shoes. Oh my those sparkly Crystal Queen shoes were Sophie to a T! You really are a sparkly princess bride Meanwhile the guys were getting ready at their brand new home.
Ceremony St Saviours Oxton
The ceremony was held at St Saviours in Oxton. The lady minister there was very welcoming. Plus anyone who gives chocolate as a gift is a winner too! Plenty of space and freedom to walk (quietly) around the aisles to get carious angles during the service One of the bridesmaids (one of our brides for next year) read a beautiful poem from a nan who sadly could not be present. Brought a lump to my throat. Soon it was time to exit, the sun was out and group photos were quickly undertaken so everyone could get to the party
Cristal Thornton Hall Wedding Reception
As we can see Sophie loves all things sparkly and bling so the Cristal Suite at Thornton Hall was the perfect choice for the wedding reception Its Crystal chandeliers and ornate metal ceiling panels adds luxuriousness and opulence such a bride can only dream of. The beautiful setup in the Cristal Suite took their breath away when it was revealed to them. Lots of laughter in speeches and more merriment in the evening with the fabulous Tequila to entertain everyone Great party atmosphere and a wonderfully memorable day for everyone.
Sophie and Robbie thank you for the joy of capturing your day, for all the laughter and giggles. We wish you even more happiness in the years to come. Much love Sandy & Dave
Sophie – I know you are obsessed with our blogs – so hope you enjoy yours xx

How appropriate for Remembrance Day is this blog post of a winter wedding at Thornton Hall Hotel with Jake and Sophie. Jake served in the British Army in Afghanistan sadly several of his mates are no longer around to celebrate his wedding day. On this day of remembrance we pause and remember all those who lost their lives serving for their country.
A wedding day Jake nearly never had too..he and his best man were shot up in blasts in Afghanistan and have been slowly recuperating..a recent operation was just a few months ago. Must be every girlfriends nightmare to receive such news from the war. can only imagine the emotions and thoughts that went through their minds, not knowing what the future might hold. Sophie determinedly and devotedly looked after Jake, virtually becoming his carer over night. I’m sure that must have aided his recovery, so to see them healthy and happy on their wedding day was truly a blessing. I got quite teary eyed hearing their story in the speeches before the wedding breakfast.
Detail shots were captured at Sophie’s parents home whilst Sophie and her maids were in Liverpool for hair and makeup pampering. I was glad to cover the getting ready details when the girls arrived back, whilst Dave went off to St George’s in Thornton Hough to meet the guys prior to the ceremony. Ha I got to ride in the limo with the bridesmaids too – ther was plenty of room! It was a lovely touch to see some of the congregation attend the ceremony, meant a lot to Sophie and Jake who enjoy attending the services here.
Sophie’s Dad proudly led his only daughter down the aisle to Jake – lovely shot of Sophie smiling as Jake had to compose himself Sophie looked amazing in her Stella York dress from Cherish the Bride with its accompanying lace edged cathedral length veil. Not sure who was more nervous Jake with his bride being nearly 3o mins late or the minister doing only his third wedding! All went well and soon it was out for a group shot before the waiting cars whisked them off to Thornton Hall
Barely a hour to before speeches, we whizzed through a few family formals and bride and groom portraits, phew that was quick but we made it! Time then for us all to eat the delicious food prepared by Thornton Hall Hotel and then time to mingle with the guests before the evening reception Much fun was had in the photobooth and we got a few more shots using the hotel features after the meal using extra lighting that is needed for winter weddings. Jake and Sophie it was a real privilege to cover your wonderful day and we wish you much happiness and health for the future.

Such a colourful fun affair for Sanaya and Satal and their friends and family at their Asian wedding party at Thornton Hall Hotel A packed room to celebrate the upcoming wedding in the next couple of days (blog post to follow!) Colourful bangles for the guests to go with all the myriad colours of the ladies saris.
Sanaya was presented with so many gifts in a special ceremony, involving rice, henna, bracelets and coconut amongst other items! Good food to enjoy and then some unusual dancing! – I’ll let the pictures do the talking for that! In all a splendid fun occasion, lots of laughter and joy and dancing to entertain everyone at this Asian wedding party.
Football Themed Thornton Hall Hotel Wedding: Adam and Lynne
Adan and Lynne’s Thornton Hall hotel Wedding was hoped to be outdoors..but you can never tell what our British summer will do! Fortunately the Pulford Suite is also an excellent option for a small wedding party, and truthfully I think it suited this day better on reflection. The whole day was all on one site and the day just flowed from preps to ceremony to reception and evening. Hilighlight of the ceremony was Adam puttign the ring on the wrong finger and Lynne letting him – much laughter! Splitting portraits either side of the wedding breakfast gives different lighting conditions. A chance to stretch your legs after a meal, have a few minutes “you time” before the evening guests arrive
Second wedding in a row the lovely Sue Hazlehurst from Shimmer and Shine Professional was on hand for make-up, ever calm Carrie Ann Shirley did a fab job on hair, Liessa Murtagh popped in to help Lynne into her Cherish the Bride dress, especially keeping calm at this time when little Scott was wanting his mum Beautiful flowers from Earth Heswall and thier colourful turqoisse gel centrtepieces looked so colourful in the room. Football loyalties shared today with the Liverpool and Tranmere theme to the table names. Thank you Lynne and Adam for the priviledge of capturing your day, glad you all had a a wonderful day and we wish you much happiness x
The most romantic day of the year, always wanted to shoot an intimate Valentine’s Day Wedding so we were thrilled to capture such a day for Lisa and Kevin. Kevin and Lisa have been together 7 years …so no seven year itch but time to get hitched!
Love Blogging! It’s such a delight, revisiting all the emotions and reactions of the day with a big beaming smile on my face ..and this one is a real treat…. Pampering for the girls in the fabulous Spa was the start of the day, Lisa was so calm and relaxed, perhaps the champagne helped! Then off to capture some details shots in a quiet room before the girls arrived back was a bonus, whilst Dave grabbed a few shots with the guys prior to the ceremony.
A cold but bright day meant systems go for their desired outdoor wedding in the pagoda of Thornton Hal, bedecked in aglorious turqoise peaccock color, erfectly matched by Lisa’s bridemaids.. A beautiful ceremony with one of the lovliest registrars we have witnessed. Lots of confetti, drinks and a few groups made for plenty of time for guests to relax and enjoy themselves as we captured relaxed candid shots throughout the day.
Just sixteen guests for the day and a larger party in the evening made a perfect combination. A long table in the Pulford Suite suited this size wedding…and what can we do for a small wedding cake alternative – well Ferro Roche was the answwer!
A thoughtful kevin, just before the ceremony..and afterwards he said he wished he’d married Lisa sooner ..ahh how lovely
Thornton Hall Pagoda – perfect for an outdoor intimate wedding
Dressing preparations over, the obligatory selfie and soon dad was arriving to escort his daughter to a waiting kevin
The evening kicked off with Casino from Sapphire Fun Casinos – the kids loved it, couldn’t keep them away! Also photobooth provided by ProBooth (good to meet you again Ben Ellis!) kept guests entertained, the high quality prints make for a fab fun guest book for a keepsake of a memorable evening.
Thank you Lisa and Kevin for allowing us to capture your day, truly a privilege and we wish you many more incredible beautiful memories xx
