Rachael and Jon Got Married! Leasowe Castle wedding Photography

Relaxed Bridal Preps

Rachael and Jon had long planned their St Nicholas Church and Leasowe Castle wedding for the spring of 2017.  They had booked Pixsmiths Creative Photography almost 2 years in advance and we loved following their wedding planning journey with them.  We love to start bridal preps a good two hours before a ceremony, A relaxed time of mingling with the girls as they are being pampered for the day Rachael lost an amazing 5 stone for her wedding – a real inspiration – too and looked absolutely stunning in her dress from Cherish The Bride. We did hear the story of how a smaller-sized dress was obtained right at the last chance!

Personal touches in the Ceremony

The men opted to arrive at St Nicholas in Wallsey on their motorbikes so that was great fun and good for the video which we know Rachael will not regret. Always good to work with Rob Whibley from Action Wedding Videos too, we both have an unobtrusive style>  Rachael and her bridesmaid arrived more traditionally in the luxury Bentleys of Classic Bridal Cars Mark and Jane excelled at looking after the girls, and always so attentive and keeping them calm, on hand with tissue/umbrellas etc as needed. The ceremony itself was a touching personal service for Rachael and Jon. ~ The Rev Jeff Staples pulled out his guitar and, along with,  the choir gave a special rendition of Hallelujah which had our couple laughing and crying with joy. Even Rev Jeff himself wiped a tear from his eye. The rain made a short appearance towards the end of ceremony – we managed to get the big group and confetti outside and then opted for a few formals inside – it can tend to be windy in this location! As they came out again we had this amazing leap from Jon – they both looked so happy and so glad we could capture this real moment in the day.

Reception in the Turret Suite

On to Leasowe Castle – Rachael broke with tradition (we love a bit of non-tradition!) by travelling with her dad again as the boys rode their bikes to the Castle Time for some sweet portraits – the spring flowers in the woodland garden added a lovely splash of colour. The Turret suite, a more intimate room for weddings, was bedecked with navy colours for their colour scheme and Dvelin Designs did a fabulous job with the travel map seating plan and amusing table names appropriate to them and their upcoming amazing round-the-world mega honeymoon. We left them to enjoy their meal in peace and pooped back in for the speeches – always a favourite part of the day too for us.  Such a hilarious moment when Rachael’s Dad pulled out his speech notes, made on Ladbrokes betting slips with “HELP” spelt out on the back.

Party Time

Speeches were done and now with evening guests arriving it was time to party. Lots of fun with the chocolate fountain and Photobooth from Pixelbooth went down a treat Everyone had a fabulous time – some memorable dances, including a special one for Rachael and her dad. It was really touching to see the closeness of families and friends. and it’s a cliche but a day that meant the world to Rachael and Jon Thank you for giving us the privilege of sharing your amazing day, Your joy was so evident and thank you for being so expressive.  A fantastic day to start our wedding season.  Have an amazing honeymoon and every happiness ahead. Love and hugs Sandy & Dave xx

Brook Hall Wedding: Dawn and Sean

Brook Hall Wedding: Dawn and Sean

Travel Themed Brook Hall Wedding

So much to enjoy about this travel-themed Brook Hall (formerly Brook Meadow) wedding of Sean and Dawn.
A sunny August Bank Holiday weekend – a rarity it itself!
Sean and Dawn have been together 11 years and love travelling to many destinations so it formed a natural theme for their fabulous day.
A gorgeous green and brown-coloured theme, the decor in their home matched perfectly too for the bridal prep details, obviously inspirational for the colour scheme.

The Girls!

Sea’s three daughters were his “Best Men”  they not only looked fabulous in their jackets from Slaters, white trousers and green tie ribbon matching the bridesmaid’s colour, but also were well organised helping with the big group as well as enjoying swigs from their hip flasks to help calm any nerves at the church with their dad and checking times with their pocket watches.
The church,  St Oswalds in Bidston is a friendly place and there was even a banner up about being together on a journey.
The vicar is well known for his singing and during the registry signing sang “Come Fly with Me” ..so appropriate for Sean and Dawn!

Brook Hall Hotel Reception

Onto  Brookmeadow, now renamed as Brook Hall, and beautifully updated in a contemporary style, befitting the owners of Sheldrakes who now run this venue.
Brook Hall has an idyllic setting in the Childer Thornton, Cheshire countryside.  Truly a wonderful Cheshire wedding venue.  So many opportunities for stunning portraits around iis gardens
and stone bridge over the brook towards the bottom of the gardens.  Outdoor weddings can take place here too

The tables at Brookmeadow were artistically decorated with travel memorabilia from various countries they had visited …and the anecdotes from their travels during teh speeches were hilarious..on the lines ..we went here, Dawn doesn’t like flying, scuba diving etc.. all the things Sean loved…so opposites do attract!  It ended with Dean saying he likes to be punctual …Dawn was a wee bit late at the church ..well it is the bride’s prerogative ;-)

The Matt magician worked the tables during the reception and in-between meal courses went down a treat, kept all the guests entertained.
Whilst in the evening the band Route 66 had the dance floor rocking.
A wonderful day for Sean and DAwn and we thank you that we could capture all the day’s events for you.
Wishing you many more years of happiness.
