COVID Wirral Wedding

COVID Wirral Wedding

Love Wins over COVID Wirral Wedding

Our first COVID Wirral wedding ceremony post lockdown took place at the United Reformed Church in West Kirby.
It has been 6 long months since our last wedding – so bizarre this year has been.
So happy weddings are now back on the agenda – albeit small affairs with restrictions, but so good to be back in action.
As you can see from the picture below – chairs are socially distanced spaced for guests.

Sharon and Steve planned their wedding for April – of course, that didn’t happen but once restrictions were lifted enough for them the couldn’t wait to be Mr and Mrs.
Obviously, their day was a bit different from what was planned – but love wins over and a larger celebration is planned for next year.

Guests wore masks and remained seated throughout – socially distanced. Track and tracing forms left on seats for the handful of guests to complete.
The bride, groom, and vicar didn’t have to wear masks Hands were sanitised before and after ring exchange.
Sharon arrived with her dad by car, wearing masks.  As her dad is in a different household though he had to be socially distanced as they came down the aisle.
The lovely Rev. Louise Franklin had the idea for them to hold a ribbon between them for a connection.

It might sound rather sterile but nothing could stop the joy beaming from Sharon and Steve and that after all is what matters. Love wins over COVID.
As they came down the aisle after their ceremony, they stopped in the foyer to dance to the rest of their song, so enwrapped with each other.
Honestly had tears in my eyes…made the story of their day

Would love to share some pics of the ecstatic couple but next year will follow with a blessing and dress worn again and been asked not to share.
So next year we will have the complete story and pics to add.
