Sunny Shades, Sunsets and Ice Cream at a Family Wedding

Pixsmiths, Sheldrakes wedding photographer, was delighted to cover this gorgeous family wedding.
Romance blossomed on the local train platform for commuters Jen and Simon
They have been together some 14 years now and have a beautiful family
So now time to celebrate their love and commitment …not only with an eternity ring but a wonderful wedding!

The whole day had such a relaxed happy feel to the day, Sandy was in sparkly ring heaven with the gorgeous details.
knowing Jen’s engagement ring was designed with a grandmother’s diamond was even more special.

Bridal preps just flowed with chat and natural pics of Jennie with her daughter Ruby being pampered by a good friend and makeup artist Zoey
Ruby’s room just suited her to a T and made for some cute special  detail shots  for her too
Zoey is the partner for Simon’s best man – the taller one.  The shorter one is our couple’s son who later showed some great moves on the dance floor
Meanwhile, the guys were getting ready at a nearby family home – it was great to be able to get both bride and groom preps captured.

Church Ceremony St Peter’s

The church – St Peter’s in  Lower Heswall was packed for the ceremony.  There were moist eyes as first the genteel minister led Ruby in followed by Jen and her proud Dad
Jen walking towards her groom looks down to see her son standing by his side, her daughter looking on, on the other side and the groom’s sister wiping a tear from her eye
A treasured, precious moment. Charlie and Ruby almost stole the show with their reading, the obvious family closeness was a real joy to see during the ceremony

Sheldrakes Wedding Reception

Afterwards whilst the bus did its first trip to nearby Sheldrakes we captured some family groups and a big group on the terrace at Sheldrakes as guests enjoyed the sunshine and canapes.
The flowers supplied by Lyndaflora were stunning  – the tables around the lower restaurant area were elegantly bedecked with tall vases with white and green flowers, simply stunning.
Soon time for the meal and speeches – interrupted by the sound of the approaching Showtime Ice-cream van.
Cue – kids streaming out and running down to get their ices – popular with adults too later on a hot day.
Oh, I think some were keeping an eye on an important  European final football game too, but will gloss over that :-/

Evening Party Sheldrakes Wedding Photography

The day soon followed into the evening, with cake cutting and dancing, look out for those special moves from Charlie doing the Floss dance.
Everyone had a fantastic day, loved all the moments captured and seeing the joy on people’s faces.
I said at the beginning of the day we were due a good sunset and Sheldrakes didn’t disappoint.
The colors and the boatyard provided some most memorable images
Jennie and Simon we wish you many many more years of happiness. Thank you for the privilege of capturing your day.

Please enjoy just  a few highlights from the many  love  Sandy & Dave xx

Joyful Civil Ceremony Birkenhead Town Hall : Anne & Ken

Joyful Civil Ceremony Birkenhead Town Hall : Anne & Ken

Civil Ceremony Birkenhead Town Hall

Just last Saturday Pixsmiths were invited to a Civil ceremony Birkenhead Town Hall and reception afterwards of Anne and Ken
The day was dry but grey but Anne and Ken and their family and friends made this a colourful and joyful event.
No snow as such …even if there was  Anne and Ken would soon melt it – sizzling!
Originally planned just before Christmas Anne and Ken were so disappointed to have to cancel that date but this time it was systems go!

What a wonderful day it was too, such an excited bride, Anne was literally hopping up and down with happiness in the ceremony
Anne’s daughters made gorgeous bridesmaids and so colourful in their apricot coloured dresses.
Katey had been busy organising not only flowers and cake but also  doing makeup and nails. All the girls looked amazing, gorgeous
Anne’s grandson so smart as he proudly walked her down the aisle. Anne looked so elegant in her ivory dress from wed2be with matching  jacket
Such an endearing wedding, so romantic to see this couple so happy, dare I say like love-struck teenagers.
Romance is timeless and beautiful to witness this couple’s special day

Informal reception followed at St Joseph’s in Wallassy were guests were entertained by Joanne Dennis with her powerful & beautiful voice and Markie James also singing beautifully and helping with favours
Mike Jones & his close up, mind blowing magic; Joro with delicious vegan catering & Angie from St Joseph’s venue in Wallasey who made sure everything was just right for Anne and ken on their arrival.

This was such a joyful wedding of two beautiful people who deserve every happiness.
Don’t think they stopped smiling all day long!
It was our absolute privilege to share a few hours with them and capture some treasured memories

Jane and Elliot’s Relaxed Wedding at Village Hotel Bromborough

Its been a while since we had a wedding at Village Hotel in  Bromborough – and it nearly wasn’t here!
Jane and Elliot’s reception was originally planned for 4748 Hamilton Square after their Town Hall wedding…but unfortunately, they closed business.
All ended well as we think their large group was more suited to the larger space for their wedding at Urban resort Village Hotel in  Bromborough.

BRIDAL PREPS FOR WEDDING AT VILLAGE HOTEL BROMBOROUGH

Jane and Elliot met on-line – like several of our recent couples and it was obvious to see their happiness throughout their eventful day.
We hadn’t actually met Jane before but immediately felt at ease during the bridal preps with her niece as bridesmaid
She started off by saying how behind time she felt but actually she soon got dressed and was ready with an hour to spare!
never known a bride to get ready so quick!

We watched the rain lashing down and hoped it would ease and clear up by the time we got to Hamilton Square
We dodged a few rain clouds by the time we met the men for a few pre-ceremony shots
Always a popular day Friday at the Town Hall.  Jane and Elliot’s ceremony was the last of the day at 3.30 pm
We saw the 3.00 pm wedding party go in as the 2.30 came out for pics  – and that was eventful (and noisy!) with a motorbike cavalcade to cheer the weddign group
Surely the in-going bride would have heard the revving of the bike engines!

WEDDING CEREMONY

Jane arrived promptly on time under the fantastic  care of Classic Bridal cars, waiting inside the car,  til the wedding party could get inside
A little rain but ably sheltered by umbrellas.  A short ceremony and then out to sunshine ..and soon an almost empty Square.
perfect for photos before their twilight wedding reception at the Village Hotel.

RECEPTION WEDDING VILLAGE HOTEL BROMBOROUGH

Great crowd of friends to help them celebrate.  Just a couple of speeches – how well did Elliot’s son do, very articulate!
We left them after the cake cut and a few more pics to dance the evening away with their guests

Many congratulations to you Jane and Elliot.  Glad you had a fabulous day, it was so enjoyable being with you and your friends and family.
Wishing you much happiness love  Sandy & Dave x

How lovely (and quiet)  does Hamilton Square look! so pretty with all the bunting out too.  Perfect time for a glass of bubbly.

Thornton Manor Wedding Photographer: Emily & Peter

Thornton Manor Wedding Photographer: Emily & Peter

Emily and Peter’s Sunshine Wedding at Thornton Manor

So delighted that Peter and Emily asked Pixsmiths to be their Thornton Manor wedding photographer.
This historic venue is one of our most local venues and we love coming here its such a gorgeous place, in the Cheshire countryside.
Always well organised and staff are brilliant The grounds and rooms are just stunning and a perfect wedding venue –  stunning grounds and lavish rooms inside.
Exactly why Emily and Peter chose this historic venue for their Thornton Manor Wedding.

Thornton Manor Photography Bridal Preps

Bridal make-up and hair preps were in the spacious Gatehouse and then Emily got dressed in an even more spacious room in the main house.
Very impressed with how the team organised the transfer of belongings over.  Emily was super organised from early on with makeup already done when we arrived some hours before the ceremony.

Peter had Emily all emotional with the message on his card to her and had arranged for her Nan’s chain (which she wore every day prior to her passing) to be placed in her bouquet.
A thoughtful way to remember her Nan and Emily’s mum also got teary seeing it too. Emily wore flowers in her hair to match the lilac of the bridesmaids’ dresses.
Lovely detail in the top beading detail of their dresses which matched that of Emily’s gorgeous dress. Little Oliver, Emily’s nephew almost stole the show though, so cute!

We always enjoy plenty of time relaxing with the girls and get some venue shots. Seeing as the girls were getting ready on site it was easy to capture the groomsmen’s arrival too.
The groomsmen added to the colour of the day by wearing a variety of colourful socks.

Thornton Manor Wedding Ceremony

The dining room at Thornton Manor (through the Grand Hall) was packed with family and friends for the ceremony – lovely to see the bridesmaids escorted down the aisle before Emily made her stunning appearance with her proud dad. She looked radiant all day!   Celebratory drinks and out for confetti mingling and photos before the wedding breakfast.
The Lime Avenue was looking stunning in the sunshine

Thornton Manor Wedding Reception Photography

The music room always looks fabulous and today was no exception, truly a grand setting for a memorable meal.  We loved the expression of joy on Emily’s face when she was shown the room.
Lots of cheers and hand waving as Peter and Emily were announced in as the new Mr and Mrs.  Good food and entertaining speeches followed, the best man had everyone laughing.

Time for a stroll after the meal to get some fresh air and some softer light portraits -in the beautiful flower-decked sunken garden area
Extra portraits are a bonus when we are booked for a full day package, making the most of your photo opportunities and spreading it over the day.
Soon time for the evening dancing and party with the casino going down a treat, certainly provided for a  lively atmosphere!

It was great to work with Stuart Appleyard of Appleyard Productions too, we worked together really well, all of us liking the natural unobtrusive approach
The sun shone all day and everyone had a great time.

Thank you Peter and Emily that we could capture and share in your day at Thornton Manor and we wish you much continued happiness
love Sandy & Dave x

First Williamson Art Gallery Wedding: Pam & Paul

First Williamson Art Gallery Wedding: Pam & Paul

Williamson Art Gallery Wedding – The First!

A  Williamson Art Gallery wedding what a first for this little gem of an art museum and cafe in Birkenhead
Pam and Paul were blessed with being the  first couple to have a Williamson Art Gallery wedding in Gallery 4
A real privilege for Pixsmiths to capture their day, Such a unique new venue on the Wirral Wedding scene.
A wedding setting with the backdrop of the Battle of Waterloo is certainly different!

A December wedding but fortunately for Pam and Paul, mild for the time of year so pics could be taken outside.
No bridal preps required so we met with the groom and guests arriving for a few family groups first.
Soon it was time for Pam and her bridesmaids to appear, arriving in Classic Bridal Cars gorgeous Bentley’s.
Mark is like another bridesmaid for you with all his extra touches showing you how to hold your dress as you get out of the car.
Guests enjoyed waiting in the warm cafe area having a cuppa before the ceremony, having arrived by coach in good time.

Pam and Paul had an eventful ceremony, lovely poems by 3 of their guests and their daughter encouraging them to talk louder for their vows!
Afterwards more tea and biscuits whilst the group photos and a quick few portraits taken in the galleries.
Mark again was great at helping with the groups and engaging with the crowd – oh and the baby Bentley ever popular for a few pics!

Onto the Manor Restaurant in Greasby for the  well more of a party than a reception – just what this couple wanted.
The function suite is in the original millhouse – ideal for a  small wedding celebration.
The favours also had the Art Gallery connection – jars of  Honey from their gift shop
So just one simple speech from the groom and no first dance just a great time with friends and family.
Oh and guests trying to outdo each other with Christmas jumpers …but no one  expected the groom’s evening attire!
Check out the pictures below!

Pam also had an ingenious dress change up, the lace overlay and train removed from her dress which was then teamed with a little lack bolero jacket.
So clever it looked like a different dress but wasn’t, an elegant dress choice.

Pam and Paul so glad you had a wonderful day and it was worth the wait! May you enjoy much continued happiness love Sandy and Dave x

Highfield Church and  St Anne’s Reception: Hannah and Adam

Hannah and Adam kept their Wirral Wedding local and handy for their Church Ceremony at Highfield Church Rock Ferry.
We started the day at Deborah Alfa hair and beauty salon in Brimstage for the pampering of the girls.  A lovely spacious salon and very attentive staff.
A short ride from their home so what better way for Hannah to arrive than by horse and carriage courtesy of Ashcroft Carriages. so happy it was a glorious sunny day for them.
Hannah looked fabulous in her bridal gown as she entered, closely followed by several cute flower girls and bridesmaids and what has to be the cutest ever page boy in tails!
An unusual church in that there is no central aisle but twoside ones, so processional down one and recessional the other one!
Groups soon accomplished at the church Bride and Groom now husband and wife took the carriage to nearby Port  Sunlight for their wedding images.
Reception followed at St Anne’s, loved the fairy lights set up and such a spacious room.  Staff were lovely, looking after everyone, including us, so well.
Just loved Hannah’s beaming smile.  Lots of action on the dance floor in teh evening, a wonderful day had by all.
Happy memories Hannah and Adam , wishing you many more years of happy times.  Enjoy your highlights of your day. Sandy and Dave xx
