Summer Fete West Kirby and Caldy Wedding
Summer Caldy Rugby Club Wedding
Such a fun relaxed wedding for Michelle and Ben just as they wanted, a fun-filled wedding with lots of personal and DIY touches to savour.
We do love travelling for weddings but it’s equally fun to have a wedding in our home town …so a colourful West Kirby Wedding was the order of the day and we had perfect weather too!
We knew it would be a fun day with this couple and how creative they were when they showed us the invites – with dress code for ladies being “summer frocks and dresses locks” and for the men “bow ties or no ties”
Relaxed preps, catching the preparations and getting some detail shots – Michelle’s mum had lovingly made her daughter her wedding dress and Michelle had crafted her own origami flowers and those of the bridesmaids as well as buttonholes for the men.
Both the groomsmen and the girls walked to the church – after all the weather was sunny and it was just around the corner – made for some unique arrival shots and we had the rainbow coloured umbrella too.
Michelle and Ben’s son took a fancy to the colourful bouquet, so he got to carry that into the church …he caused much amusement during the service at St Bridget’s with his antics with the dress – just added to the humour and relaxed atmosphere of the day too. Provided one of our cutest ever pics! The choir signing in the service was very upbeat ….”Bring me sunshine” was one of the pieces, so fitting for the day :-)
At the Bridal preps I coveted the colourful Iron Fist shoes – aren’t they gorgeous!
Rainbow colours were definitely a theme of the day from the bouquet to this umbrella
Onto the Caldy Club and what a transformation there bedecked in their bright colours. Simple effective touches with painted cans for flower vases.
Their welcome board was ingenious – pins with their names, nicknames and the wedding hashtag for all the guests. Great idea as no formal seating plan. Guests enjoyed sitting outdoors having fun with the garden games, coconut shy and a rodeo bull. The clubhouse was also festooned with colour and the polaroid board was a big hit!
Catering from Manna foods was fabulous – Hog roast (oh my that cracking was so scrumptious!) and paella on the go. For dessert we had Hyacinth vintage ice-cream van come along – very popular!
So a great party ensued, humourous speeches, a little cake cut and an informal dancing were the order of the evening.
The whole day went just as you wanted Ben and Michelle and we loved every minute of being with you and thank you for asking us to capture your fun-filled day x
