GOLDEN AUTUMNAL GROSVENOR PULFORD WEDDING

We started this wedding year back in January at Grosvenor Pulford so it was wonderful to be back towards the end of the year for James and Amy’s fabulous golden autumn wedding here.

The setting in the Grosvenor  Suite truly magical with the autumn trees setting the scene and used to decorate the wedding reception later in the day too
Our dapper groom, Bestman, and two sons in dark green suits complimented the colour scheme perfectly.
Amy was being pampered by Samantha Gannon and Gemma Baxter and enjoying the preps with her girls before the ceremony
Amy looked so elegant in her Whirte Closset bridal dress, altered by Neil the Alteration doctor

The whole day just flowed perfectly and the weather played nicely with dry spells for the groups and portraits around the wonderful grounds and spa garden
Plenty of time for guests to mingle and enjoy the day.  The sparkler fun kicked the evening reception off to a great start

A fabulous enjoyable day for everyone.  Thank you Amy and James for letting us share and capture your magical day
Wishing you many years of happiness

TWOSDAY CHESTER WEDDING

February 22 2022 2pm

Brides love memorable wedding dates – so do grooms as it’s easier to remember anniversaries!

bride and groom in Goostall lane Chester

February 22, 2022, is the date all numbers line up to give the 22.2.22 date. This unique date is a palindrome, it reads the same forwards and backwards, and has been coined ‘Twosday’ by social media users as it happens to fall on a Tuesday. It is also an ambigram which means the date remains the same when its digits are reversed and this apparently won’t happen for another 200 years
This city centre  Chester wedding at Chester Registry Office was at 2 pm too.
– did jokingly suggest the bride could be late and marry at 2.22 pm – but guess not a good idea if registrars have other weddings that day!

First Look Chester Grosvenor

Gerri and Dave walked to the registry office for their Chester city centre civil wedding
First, we arranged a quick cute first look outside the Chester  Grosvenor Hotel – our couples like to do things a bit differently and we are all up for that.
Then a short stroll through the streets of Chester city centre to Chester Registry for their ceremony.

Chester City Wedding Chester Registry

An intimate wedding so just parents and son in attendance – the rest of the family would soon find out.
Son George, so grown up in the same suit as Dad, enjoyed handing over the rings in the ceremony.

Gerri had a gorgeous alternative bouquet, a  beautiful broach bouquet with pieces from family members, including initials and roses of stained glass window material.

Time after the ceremony to send messages across the world to show off the rings
Confetti cannon shots and then another stroll through town to Piccolino’s Italian restaurant.

Thank goodness the weekend storms had abated and although cool the sun was out.
Most importantly no rain so we could enjoy the stroll to the restaurant.

planned in advance the couple had drinks and then trolled over to nearby the Roman gardens for some family pictures
oh and a little snuggle and dance before returning for delicious pizza and pasta ….and of course cake!

Gerri and Dave thank you for allowing us to capture your cute city centre Chester wedding.
It was just the day you wanted and planned and we couldn’t be happier for you.

Quirky Chester Oddfellows Wedding Photography

Micro Wedding Photography at Oddfellows Chester Wedding Venue

secret garden Chester wedding oddfellows

We so enjoyed Mel and David’s quirky Oddfellows Chester wedding photography, despite its many modifications during this crazy year.
Originally a May wedding they pushed back to September 28th.  Until the last few they thought they could have 30 guests
but new rules …yes starting from their new wedding date. ………meant just 15 guests…and stress!

It was touch and go with confusion re suppliers being included or not whether we could photograph this wedding.
Thankfully cleared just in time – we checked with the venue and they were fully up to speed that suppliers did not count in the 15.
So happy Mel and David went ahead with their day.  It was a relaxed afternoon, a beautiful ceremony at Oddfellows Chester.

Oddfellows is a boutique hotel in the city centre of Chester.  It has really quirky decor and a cute secret garden area and terrace upstairs.
so many areas for alternative images. Go check it out with an afternoon tea here, you won’t be disappointed.

Melanie arrived in an absolutely gorgeous cream lace bodice dress with a flowing pink mid-calf skirt.
The outfit was exquisitely teamed with a birdcage fascinator and turquoise and pink irregular choice shoes – quirky shoes for a quirky venue!
Mel you looked absolutely stunning …and you surprised us how quick you could walk in your heels!

The  ceremony was followed by congratulations, some quick portraits  in the secret garden  and then it was a stroll down to the river
A 30-minute boat cruise the Dee on the Chester Boat Mark Twain made for an alternative post-ceremony activity.

The prosecco was flowing and informal groups taken during the cruise.  So much fun.
Back to Oddfellows for a small reception and cake.  The cake was of course topped with Mel and Dave minions – very fitting and cute.

Thank you Mel and David for preserving with your day, we loved seeing and capturing the joy and giggles from the day.
Nothing was going to stand in your way and stop you from marrying and it was obvious your guests had a great time with you.
It was a privilege to capture the fun and we wish you much-continued happiness xx

To anyone considering a micro wedding – don’t think of it as restricted but a time when you can really engage with those nearest and dearest with you.
More purpose and meaningful  – think outside the box and make it work for your day.

Doubletree by Hilton Chester Autumn Wedding

Gorgeous Burgundy sparkly themed autumn Chester wedding

A long-awaited Doubletree by Hilton Chester wedding of Abbie and Scott for Pixsmiths just last month.
When your sister is sparkly queen Vikki of Wirral Weddings and a much sought after venue dresser – Sapphire Bespoke Events –
you know the venue will look amazing.  She certainly didn’t disappoint.  The staff at Doubletree Hilton also remarked how fabulous it looked.
The changes for the ceremony, the wedding breakfast and the evening were perfectly coordinated.

Not only dressed the venue – and matched the décor with her bridesmaid’s dress but being in the wedding industry knew the right suppliers for her sister.
Pixsmiths were honoured to be asked along with all the other amazing suppliers who contributed to this wonderful wedding day.
Unbeknownst to Abbie, Scott had been poorly in hospital early hours of the morning.  Being so unselfish though he didn’t want to worry his bride.
When we found out we just said, take things at your own pace, rest if necessary.  We always let our couple drive the day and not us.
You really wouldn’t know it from the pics though the story behind the day.  Abbie and Scott, you just beamed all day  xx
Enjoy your highlights x

Proud dad was bowled over by how gorgeous and radiant Abbie looked in her gown by Opulence. (sadly now closed)

Likewise, the bridesmaids and flower girl were equally impressed.
Soon it was time to head down for the ceremony to a waiting Scott.

We did have a bit of a downpour but Doubletree Hilton Chester has good options for groups indoors in its light and airy conservatory.
The boardwalk by the lake and the fountain was far too slippery to risk walking on.
However, we did have a tiny window of dry weather and some blue skies so we grabbed a few outdoor portraits and you can see how happy Abbie and Scott were.
Plus the rain provided puddles for reflections!

How stunning does this room look, the huge trees, flower arches and candles …more candles Vikki kept saying, when checking the venue dressing – created an amazing atmosphere
The burgundy colour scheme and sparkly golden tablecloths created such a warm cosy feel.

Abode Chester Wedding Photography: Steven & Preeti

Abode Chester Wedding Photography: Steven & Preeti

 ABode Chester Wedding Photography

It was our pleasure to capture the ABode Chester wedding photography of Steven and Preeti recently.
The ABode Chester Hotel is a luxury hotel close to the town centre of Chester, hence ideal for sightseeing – just a few minutes walk to the city walls and river.
We enjoyed the bridal preps where Preeti wore two different saris for us to capture.
Cousins and sister were all on hand to assist and was quite chilled out.
The suite on the sixth floor had an amazing view from the balcony overlooking the Chester racecourse
and the Welsh hills beyond.  Made a lovely setting for a bridal portrait.
The room itself is large and the bathroom suite is impressive with a bath on one side of the wall and a walk-through shower on teh other side

Guests gathered for drinks in teh bar prior to the 1 p.m. It was an international affair with guests flying in from around the world
Preeti was traditionally late so we really chasing time as the meal was scheduled for just one hour later – yes 2 pm!

Fortunately, our couple knew this, it’s how they wanted their day and there were just a few groups and portraits to cover.
Happily, the rain stayed off just until the wedding party sat down for the wedding breakfast
and we had got all the shots requested

Loved all the details and colours of this day and in particular the amazing Indian elephant cake.
We left them to enjoy their meal and evening party.

Much happiness to you Steven & Preeti

Intimate Chester Registry Ceremony

Intimate Chester Registry Ceremony

Intimate family focused Chester Registry Ceremony

Just recently Pixsmiths had the pleasure of covering a small intimate ceremony at Chester Registry rooms
Our couple didn’t want a fuss, don’t like being centre of attention so this was how they wanted their day.
They arranged a bespoke short package with us tailored to their needs
A simple ceremony with mums and grandparents and one cute  daughter flower girl.

Kate arrived really early – so took the opportunity for  a few pics beforehand
Its a little odd but the registrars see the couple together to check their details.
When we realised this a quick “first look” was arranged.  for Kate and Michael.
So enjoyed seeing their reaction and hugs.
The ceremony was short and sweet with hugs all around after.
Then time for a few quick groups  before the newly weds headed off to Thornton Hall

Later a much larger party was arranged at Thornton Hall Hotel in the beautiful renovated Crystal suite.
Here the scene was buzzing throughout the bar and reception room.
We covered some essential family groups and a few couple portraits.
We left them to enjoy their dancing and photobooth provided by ProBooth and the fireworks planned for later.

So happy Kate and Michael had the day they wanted and glad we could capture the essential moments for them.
enjoy a few highlights

cute kisses for the bride!
