Such a wonderful day for our first time as Grosvenor Pulford wedding photographers. We couldn’t have asked for a better couple in Kirsty and Alfie – so accomodating and friendly along with their families.
This was our first full-day wedding since the easing of lockdown restrictions in level 3. So good o have a complete wedding again. The whole day was relaxed and just flowed from preps at Grosvenor Pulford to walking across the road to the local church and back again for the reception.
Pulford is situated just over the border from the town of Wrexham. an idyllic rural Cheshire village not far from historic Chester The Grosvenor Pulford is a fabulous Cheshire wedding venue with a range of facilities for weddings and events. The grounds are varied with its lake and bridges to the Asian Garden of the Spa retreat Plenty of parking too for guests.
here you can see how close St Mary’s Church Pulford is to the Grosvenor Pulford (our thanks to Madison Picture for the drone image)
Bride and Groom Preps Grosvenor Pulford Wedding
Bride and Groom were both getting ready at the Grosvenor Pulford – different rooms of course – so both were easily captured with two photographers on board. Each received beautiful gifts and were well pleased with them. Make-up done and outfits on, time to get married!
Soon it was time to cross that road and get them to the church on time!
Ceremony St Mary’s Pulford
A beautiful country church – with a vicar who used to be at our local church in West Kirby. St Mary’s is a grade II listed red sandstone church. Beautiful light inside for photography.
Kirsty’s daughter Lottie was a superstar at looking after her mum’s stunning bridal gown, making sure it was draped properly ready for the walk down the aisle. Sadly still no singing allowed but beautiful emotions on show during the ceremony
A jump for joy at the exit and group photos and then back across the road for the reception.
Grosvenor Pulford Wedding Reception
Groups done at the church allows guests to relax and enjoy the reception drinks. Kirsty and Alfie had time to explore the plentiful grounds and have a confetti shot on the bridge of the lake and a look around the gorgeous Asian garden before the wedding breakfast
Speeches before the meal were so amusing and Alfie, a wedding entertainer himself, gave a special rendition of a song he had prepared
Few mins to relax as guests were seated for the reception – time to grab a couple more images.
The wedding favours were a neat touch – a gin and tonic with a key as a bottle opener
Time for a stroll around the lake after the meal to aid digestion from all the food Lots more giggles and fun along the way. Such a happy relaxed day. always good to plan your day to allow time to stroll and enjoy as well as have time with guests.
Evening Reception Grosvenor Pulford
Guests enjoyed the evening sunshine and relaxing before the evening reception. Ok, so bride and groom can still have the first dance during this period so Kirsty and Alfie enjoyed their song – and more confetti! So glad you had your amazing day at last Kirsty and Alfie and we wish you much success also in your new venture as a model couple for wedding style shoots.
We really enjoyed being Grosvenor Pulford wedding photographers. if you have enjoyed these images and are looking for a photographer for your day we would love to hear from you Visit our contact page and tell us how we can help capture your day.

Ceremony and Afternoon Tea at Oak Bar and Bistro Greasby
Amy and Rik enjoyed a beautiful micro wedding with a ceremony at the Birkenhead Town Hall followed by an afternoon tea reception at Oak Bar and Bistro in Greasby
It made for a perfect intimate day for them. 17th May – first day in strep 3 after lockdown that indoor receptions were allowed again.
Amy such a gorgeous happy expressive bride – so lovely to see her evident joy. Rik did Amy proud too!
Amy’s mum Margaret was a Pixsmiths bride herself some 11 years ago and she kindly arranged for us to capture these few precious moments.
The day was bright and dry, albeit a bit windy. The rainbow flag flying on the Town Hall fluttered to celebrate International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia.
Mother and daughter – both beautiful Pixsmiths brides
Amy was over the moon with her campervan – she even kissed it goodbye!
Oak Bar and Bistro Reception
Our first time in this Bistro bar in Greasby and we were impressed!
The upper room with its own bar was perfect for an intimate wedding and afternoon tea.
Exclusive use upstairs and two long tables set out for the wedding guests. Blossom trees and decor nicely dressed the room.
Another Micro wedding at Birkenhead Town Hall to enjoy. Seems to be our second home recently!
Each one has been different and we have so enjoyed them. Our Wirral registrars are so lovely and helpful, even under restricted circumstances.
Pre Wedding Shoot
We had previously met up with Georgia and Lee for a pre wed/bump shoot, at the popular scenic beauty spot of Red Rocks.
No dramatic sunset that night but at least dry and even light.
it was good to get to know each other a little better and we had such fun chatting and snapping away.
Oh, we even tested Lee’s drawing in the sand skills with his stick people!
Just a few weeks later it was time for the wedding ceremony
Town Hall Micro Wedding
So on to the wedding day itself. A little drizzle for arrivals but that didn’t dampen the happy smiles.
No first look needed this time – bride and groom and the family arriving together for the short ceremony
Georgia’s beautiful pastel flowers in her bouquet echoed the flowers embroidered on her dress.
Personalised masks for this couple and their guests
The ceremony was the first time we encountered the new wedding schedule that is now signed in place of the marriage certificate.
Marriage certificates are now prepared digitally and are available for collection or postage at a later date.
The new marriage schedule certificate signed at Town hall weddings
Micro Wedding Portraits Birkenhead Town Hall
time for a few groups and portraits – always love the architecture and grounds around Hamilton Square, always somewhere for a picture or two.
Adored Georgia’s denim jacket with her new name on – of course we had to include that in a shot
Many congrats Lee & Georgia and every blessing for the new addition soon! Safe trip to Ireland to family there and for planning a wedding party in Spain at a later date!
Sunny Shades, Sunsets and Ice Cream at a Family Wedding
Pixsmiths, Sheldrakes wedding photographer, was delighted to cover this gorgeous family wedding.
Romance blossomed on the local train platform for commuters Jen and Simon
They have been together some 14 years now and have a beautiful family
So now time to celebrate their love and commitment …not only with an eternity ring but a wonderful wedding!
The whole day had such a relaxed happy feel to the day, Sandy was in sparkly ring heaven with the gorgeous details.
knowing Jen’s engagement ring was designed with a grandmother’s diamond was even more special.
Bridal preps just flowed with chat and natural pics of Jennie with her daughter Ruby being pampered by a good friend and makeup artist Zoey
Ruby’s room just suited her to a T and made for some cute special detail shots for her too
Zoey is the partner for Simon’s best man – the taller one. The shorter one is our couple’s son who later showed some great moves on the dance floor
Meanwhile, the guys were getting ready at a nearby family home – it was great to be able to get both bride and groom preps captured.
Church Ceremony St Peter’s
The church – St Peter’s in Lower Heswall was packed for the ceremony. There were moist eyes as first the genteel minister led Ruby in followed by Jen and her proud Dad
Jen walking towards her groom looks down to see her son standing by his side, her daughter looking on, on the other side and the groom’s sister wiping a tear from her eye
A treasured, precious moment. Charlie and Ruby almost stole the show with their reading, the obvious family closeness was a real joy to see during the ceremony
Sheldrakes Wedding Reception
Afterwards whilst the bus did its first trip to nearby Sheldrakes we captured some family groups and a big group on the terrace at Sheldrakes as guests enjoyed the sunshine and canapes.
The flowers supplied by Lyndaflora were stunning – the tables around the lower restaurant area were elegantly bedecked with tall vases with white and green flowers, simply stunning.
Soon time for the meal and speeches – interrupted by the sound of the approaching Showtime Ice-cream van.
Cue – kids streaming out and running down to get their ices – popular with adults too later on a hot day.
Oh, I think some were keeping an eye on an important European final football game too, but will gloss over that :-/
Evening Party Sheldrakes Wedding Photography
The day soon followed into the evening, with cake cutting and dancing, look out for those special moves from Charlie doing the Floss dance.
Everyone had a fantastic day, loved all the moments captured and seeing the joy on people’s faces.
I said at the beginning of the day we were due a good sunset and Sheldrakes didn’t disappoint.
The colors and the boatyard provided some most memorable images
Jennie and Simon we wish you many many more years of happiness. Thank you for the privilege of capturing your day.
Please enjoy just a few highlights from the many love Sandy & Dave xx
The two best men!
Just lovely how the inside of Sheldrakes flowed out to the outside terrace on such a sunny day, really made the most of the space

Jennie and Toby’s Rustic wedding Thornton Manor Waterside
A church wedding and reception at the idyllic Thornton Manor Waterside Pavilion were the chosen locations for Jennie and Toby’s wedding The smaller of the lake settings at Thornton Manor but lovely grounds with the bridges and lake views A tinder match made in heaven for Toby and Jennie ..their 3 year anniversary marked was their wedding day.
Bridal Preps
So many pretty details! Dessy bridesmaids dresses in pretty different coloured pastels, Jennie’s own dress was  a gorgeous bridal gown from Bellissima Brimstage Brides and check out those divine Valentino shoes. Pretty blossoms in white and green from Victoria Blossom where a perfect match for the day, fresh and summery The girls had fun being pampered
Neston Church Ceremony
The ceremony took place at St Mary’s and St Helens parish church Neston, a beautiful historic church with exhibits from the Viking age inside A few nervous looks from Toby and great to see his Best men supporting him  and giving reassurance Of course Jennie being devoted to her pooch Oliver had a poem read out especially about how to love her favoured 4 legged friend …and Oliver did make an appearance later on in the day, unsurprisingly. The threatened thunderstorms did not appear, a little rain in the morning freshened things up after the heat of the previous day and did not reappear til late in the evening. Perfect weather for all as they came out to a confetti tunnel – the mini canons totally surprising them! That look on Toby’s face!
Reception Waterside Pavilion
The reception took place at the idyllic Waterside Pavilion beautifully set out in trestle table format, suited to the BBQ meal. Barratt’s the caterers did a great job cooking minted lamb, BBQ chicken, vegetable skewers, prawn and salmon skewers as well as steak. Salads and Couscous with pepper, potatoes and coleslaw provided the perfect accompaniments  Pink Sherbet stationery excelled as usual with her luxury designed stationery from her Sophia range. Check Cheryl’s blog post for all the details. The invites and order of service all coordinated with the table plan, table names and place names. The tables were all named after bars with significant meanings – eg. Sydney Opera Bar for the proposal location during the Australian adventures.  The speeches were regaled with those early tinder messages and much laughter with surprise images of Toby from his modelling days! A wonderful day spent with such hospital staff, friends and family. The evening got underway with he cake cut and reveal in to the first dance amidst lots of smoke effects and then musical entertainment from the band The Daddioes. Jennie and Toby we loved your day, so relaxed hope you enjoy your blog post and we wish you much love and happiness
Emily and Peter’s Sunshine Wedding at Thornton Manor
So delighted that Peter and Emily asked Pixsmiths to be their Thornton Manor wedding photographer.
This historic venue is one of our most local venues and we love coming here its such a gorgeous place, in the Cheshire countryside.
Always well organised and staff are brilliant The grounds and rooms are just stunning and a perfect wedding venue –Â stunning grounds and lavish rooms inside.
Exactly why Emily and Peter chose this historic venue for their Thornton Manor Wedding.
Thornton Manor Photography Bridal Preps
Bridal make-up and hair preps were in the spacious Gatehouse and then Emily got dressed in an even more spacious room in the main house.
Very impressed with how the team organised the transfer of belongings over. Â Emily was super organised from early on with makeup already done when we arrived some hours before the ceremony.
Peter had Emily all emotional with the message on his card to her and had arranged for her Nan’s chain (which she wore every day prior to her passing) to be placed in her bouquet.
A thoughtful way to remember her Nan and Emily’s mum also got teary seeing it too. Emily wore flowers in her hair to match the lilac of the bridesmaids’ dresses.
Lovely detail in the top beading detail of their dresses which matched that of Emily’s gorgeous dress. Little Oliver, Emily’s nephew almost stole the show though, so cute!
We always enjoy plenty of time relaxing with the girls and get some venue shots. Seeing as the girls were getting ready on site it was easy to capture the groomsmen’s arrival too.
The groomsmen added to the colour of the day by wearing a variety of colourful socks.
Thornton Manor Wedding Ceremony
The dining room at Thornton Manor (through the Grand Hall) was packed with family and friends for the ceremony – lovely to see the bridesmaids escorted down the aisle before Emily made her stunning appearance with her proud dad. She looked radiant all day! Â Celebratory drinks and out for confetti mingling and photos before the wedding breakfast.
The Lime Avenue was looking stunning in the sunshine
Thornton Manor Wedding Reception Photography
The music room always looks fabulous and today was no exception, truly a grand setting for a memorable meal. Â We loved the expression of joy on Emily’s face when she was shown the room.
Lots of cheers and hand waving as Peter and Emily were announced in as the new Mr and Mrs. Â Good food and entertaining speeches followed, the best man had everyone laughing.
Time for a stroll after the meal to get some fresh air and some softer light portraits -in the beautiful flower-decked sunken garden area
Extra portraits are a bonus when we are booked for a full day package, making the most of your photo opportunities and spreading it over the day.
Soon time for the evening dancing and party with the casino going down a treat, certainly provided for a  lively atmosphere!
It was great to work with Stuart Appleyard of Appleyard Productions too, we worked together really well, all of us liking the natural unobtrusive approach
The sun shone all day and everyone had a great time.
Thank you Peter and Emily that we could capture and share in your day at Thornton Manor and we wish you much continued happiness
