Travel Themed Brook (Meadow) Hall Wedding for Dawn and Sean
So much to enjoy about this travel themed Brook Hall (formerly Brook Meadow) wedding of Sean and Dawn. A sunny August Bank Holiday weekend – a rarity it itself! Sean and Dawn have been together 11 years and travelled to many destinations together so it formed a natural theme for their fabulous day. A gorgeous green and brown coloured theme, the decor in their home matched perfectly too for the bridal prep details, obviously inspirational for the colour scheme.
Sea’s three daughters were his “Best Men” they not only looked fabulous in their jackets from Slaters, white trousers and green tie ribbon matching the bridesmaids colour, but also were well organised helping with the big group as well as enjoying swigs from their hip flasks to help calm any nerves at the church with their dad and checking times with their pocket watches. The church, St Oswalds in Bidston is a friendly place and there was even a banner up about being together on a journey. The vicar is well known for his singing and during the registry signing sang “Come fly with Me” ..so appropriate for Sean and Dawn!
Brook Hall Hotel Reception
Onto Brookmeadow, now renamed as Brook Hall, and beautifully updated in a contemporary style, befitting the owners of Sheldrakes who now run this venue. Brook Hall has an idyllic setting in the Childer Thornton, Cheshire countryside. Truly a wonderful Cheshire wedding venue. So many opportunities for stunning portraits around iis gardens and stone bridge over the brook towards teh bottom of the gardens. Outdoor weddings can take place here too
The tables at Brookmeadow were artistically decorated with travel memorabilia from various countries they had visited …and the anecdotes from their travels during teh speeches were hilarious..on the lines ..we went here, Dawn doesn’t like flying, scuba diving etc.. all the things Sean loved…so opposites do attract! It ended with Dean saying he like to be punctual …Dawn was a wee bit late at the church ..well it is the bride’s prerogative 😉
The Matt magician worked the tables during the reception and in between meal courses went down a treat, kept all the guest entertained. Whilst in the evening the band Route 66 had the dance floor rocking. A wonderful day for Sean and DAwn and we thank you that we could capture all the days events for you. Wishing you many more years of happiness.
Crabwall Manor Wedding Photography: Evelyn and Lewis
Wow its been a busy August and here we are for Crabwall Manor wedding Photography of Evelyn and Lewis. Weddings at Crabwall Manor are always well organised, it has had a fab refurbishment and staff are super helpful and professional, everything ran to schedule. Another eagerly awaited day for this special couple – they had each emailed a surprise for the wedding for each other, just love secrets! The morning started a bit damp but the girls were in great spirits during the prep and the time flew by as we captured them getting ready with Emma Lampkin in attendance for hair make up duties. Lovely details too – just know this is going to make a fabulous album. Oh loved the way Evelyn’s room has especially been re-wallpapered with bridal preps in mind, what a fab mum she has.
Crabwall Manor Wedding Photography – Ceremony
The bridal car arrived at Crabwall Manor – its handy clock tower is undercover so no need for umbrellas here and it was an easy access to the ceremony. Evelyn looked gorgeous in her beautiful dress and was led to her waiting groom by her mum, a real special moment. A beautiful poem was ready to them specially written by a relative to poorly to attend but read by her daughter. Evelyn and Lewis chose a purple scme for the day and the bridesmaid (her aunt) dress in lilac matched the colour of the flowers from Earth Flowers from Heswall and teh flower decorations skillfully crafted on the wedding cake by Bella’s cake pantry. So lovely to have our Blue Orchid suppliers collaborating, a great way to co-ordinate a look for your wedding.
At the ensuing drinks reception was Lewis’s surprise – the Carlton Ensemble playing beautiful music for all the guests to enjoy. Evelyn’s face was a picture! With our British weather its always worth considering a venue’s indoor space for group shots and Crabwall Manor certainly has this option. We shot the large group looking down from the stairwell in the big reception area by the fireplace and more formal smaller groups in the outside courtyard which is conveniently undercover.
Plenty of time to mill around and get some portraits before the wedding breakfast. Really tasty food …mm the Creme brulee and shortbread was divine We were honoured to be sat with their guests too, so lovely, we were treated just like family and was really appreciated> Evelyn’s mum gave a heartfelt speech, it was a real tear-jerker moment to see the special relationship between them and Yvonne had kept a message from Evelyn as a child which she’d treasured all these years and read out..not a dry eye in the room!
After the wedding breakfast came Evelyn’s surprise – ..and wonderfully the sun came out for everyone kids and big kids alike to enjoy the vintage lawn games courtesy of the Jolly Good Vintage Company. There was hook a duck, tin can alley, coconut shy, splat the rat and more. Wonderful fun and beautifully set out too on the lawn with all the vintage touches and bunting. Time flew by and soon time for the dancing – think Evelyn not only enjoyed the first dance but also dancing to the Spice girls ..and Lewis not to be undone did a rap – wow he was really good!
So happy for you Evelyn and Lewis, I know we will keep in touch and look forward to hearing more of your journey together and enjoy your lovely new home. much love Sandy and Dave xx
Laura and Thom :Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port Wedding Photography
A sunny August day for Laura and Thom’s church wedding at the historic village church of St Mary’s Eastham and reception at Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port . The bridal preps were such fun, all the girls were chilled out, having a good singalong and drinking prosecco …eventually when they popped the cork! A campervan to whisk the girls to the beautiful historic village church of S Mary’s in Eastham. Laura, a stunning bride was led to her waiting groom by her two dads – such a lovely touch this. We couldn’t entice Gary Barlow to make an appearance but next best thing Laura’s school class choir came and sang one of his tunes for the couple in a most personal enjoyable service.
Group shot and confetti exit and it was onto the reception at the Holiday Inn – the fine weather had guests enjoying the outdoors…even a bit of fishing took place… The wedding breakfast in an air conditioned room was bliss though! Hilarious and heartwarming speeches ..especially with Laura singing an a poem to Thom – so glad thay was captured on video by the ever capable Rob Whibley from Action Wedding videos – definitely a moment to watch over and over again.
Chocolate fountain and photobooth prop shots to make a guest book kept everyone entertained and the band Eden had everyone rocking til late at night. What a fantastic day for Thon and Laura and we wish you much happiness xx
We were delighted to cover a few hours of Rose and Alex’s wedding day, split across Liverpool and Wirral. A wedding not too many months in the planning, with an engagement in the New Year. ..but wonderful plans, a lot of thought had gone in to the intimate service at St Mary’s in Woolton Liverpool. …the church where Cilla Black recently had a memorial service. Beautiful music and readings from Song of Solomon – such romantic prose there and the two singers were wonderful, blending of operatic voices, who knew Pharell’s Happy could sound like that! Rose and Alex danced out of St mary’s to this “Happy” tune. Wonderful light bright church with a great balcony to shoot from too. Oh and did I mention Rose’s dress, wow what a stunner, specially made for her by her dress designer friend Then what a treat for the guests, the open top Chester vintage bus, one of only 3 in the country of this type, was hired to take the guests over to Sheldrakes on the Wirral. A few group shots and quick portraits before they sat down for their meal. The food selection at sheldrakes restaurant was a major plus point in their venue selection. Alex is an eye doctor …and novel idea to use place cards akin to eye test chart, love the details! Beautiful wedding stationery from Devlin Designs too the invites with Sheldrakes depicted complimenting the order of service with St MAry’s and the vintage bus on the back – lovely attetion to detail.
Many congrats Rose and Alex wishing you much happiness and thank you for asking us to be a part of your day in capturing some specail memories.

Vegas Destination Wedding Home Party Sharon and Gaz
We watched Sharon and Gaz say their vows in Vegas, live-streamed from the wedding chapel with just 2 witnesses …seemed sureal as we sat in outr hotel room night before we flew to Italy. They went and had a blast in Vegas on their honeymoon and upon their return it was a large colourful party for 250 friends and family at The Park Royal Hotel, Stretton, Cheshire. Lots of colour, lots of food and a free bar made for a lively atmosphere that distracted from the grey drizzle outside. The vivid pink and navy colour scheme certainly added a splash of colour. We went with the flow capturing the ambience of the reception and candid shots of the guests. Then an official entrance to the beating of drums and a surprise dance from Sharon’s besties – a bollywood style routine that went downa treat. Thank you for the fun guys, here a few higlights of the evening to enjoy x
