We so looked forward to this Cristal Thronton Hall Wedding, and it didn’t disappoint.
Ever since Sophie contacted us, such a heartwarming email, we knew we were the perfect match for each other, to capture their wedding story
Sophie had been searching for her perfect photographers and came across our website.
I love how natural your photos are capturing such special moments. It feels like this is exactly what we have been looking for! Our wedding is 27th July 2019
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you are free and available to shoot our day!
How lovely is that! A meeting was set and Sophie’s bubbly nature won our hearts, a sparkly wedding was on the cards!
Their wedding in 3 words was laughing romantic and happy and it certainly lived up to that.
Don’t t think these too stopped laughing and smiling all day long.
Bridal & Groom Preps
Sophie had a whole army of bridemaids and flower girls to support her.
Made sense for them to have their pampering done at a local salon, The Colour bar in Oxton did a fantastic job and the tone of the day was set with the prosecco flowing.
Back to her parental home for final finishes, and then getting into her fairytale wedding dress by Opulence and sparkly shoes. Oh my those sparkly Crystal Queen shoes were Sophie to a T!
You really are a sparkly princess bride
Meanwhile the guys were getting ready at their brand new home.
Ceremony St Saviours Oxton
The ceremony was held at St Saviours in Oxton. The lady minister there was very welcoming. Plus anyone who gives chocolate as a gift is a winner too!
Plenty of space and freedom to walk (quietly) around the aisles to get carious angles during the service
One of the bridesmaids (one of our brides for next year) read a beautiful poem from a nan who sadly could not be present.
Brought a lump to my throat.
Soon it was time to exit, the sun was out and group photos were quickly undertaken so everyone could get to the party
Cristal Thornton Hall Wedding Reception
As we can see Sophie loves all things sparkly and bling so the Cristal Suite at Thornton Hall was the perfect choice for the wedding reception
Its Crystal chandeliers and ornate metal ceiling panels adds luxuriousness and opulence such a bride can only dream of.
The beautiful setup in the Cristal Suite took their breath away when it was revealed to them.
Lots of laughter in speeches and more merriment in the evening with the fabulous Tequila to entertain everyone
Great party atmosphere and a wonderfully memorable day for everyone.
Sophie and Robbie thank you for the joy of capturing your day, for all the laughter and giggles.
We wish you even more happiness in the years to come. Much love Sandy & Dave
Sophie – I know you are obsessed with our blogs – so hope you enjoy yours xx

Lis and Chris, we loved your golf-themed Colshaw Hall Wedding! Thank you for allowing us the privilege of capturing your day at this wonderful venue. It’s a luxury venue set in idyllic grounds with exclusive use You packed a lot into the day – lots of surprises in store – we threw the schedule away and just went with the flow of the day!
Only fitting that Golf-mad Lisa and Chris used Golf for the theme of the day – Golf venues as the table names, golf ball favours with their logo and date of the wedding on. The wedding cray golf supplied by Lancashire Wedding Golf was an inspired surprise for Chris and all the guests loved it. All wedding themed and personalised for the couple Already on a high from Liverpool winning the Champions League the night before this wedding just topped the weekend off fabulously.
Bridal Preps Colshaw Hall Wedding Morning
Irlam Lodge at the beginning of the drive to the Hall provided a perfect place for the girls to stay overnight in readiness for make-up and hair preps So much space to enjoy and then even more space in the glorious bridal suite for getting dressed and final preparations. Beautifully fitted out with large bedroom and en-suite as well as a dressing room with spacious wardrobes and a hook to hang the dress – all careful considerations for the room Meanwhile, the guys arrived and checked into their rooms at the other end of Colshaw Hall. We were able to cover both preps as all on one site, flitting from room to room.
Loved capturing the reaction of the bridesmaids, seeing Lisa’s beautiful dress or the first time They were a great group of girls, being hands o with steaming the dresses.
Soon it was time to make their way over to the ceremony location – a purpose-built ceremony room at Colshawl Hall for weddings of course, a golf buggy was used as transportation, first for the bridesmaids and then Lisa and her proud dad Running a little late at this time and whilst there were some last-minute changes to the ceremony vows we made the most of the opportunity with some pictures. Soon it was time to enter for Lisa to meet her groom and a beautiful ceremony ensued. Pianist Benjamin Clark added a touch of elegance with his music which continued throughout the drinks reception and wedding breakfast The bridal flowers and flower decor in the venue were stunning, perfectly complimenting the blue of the bridesmaid’s dresses.
Smiles from Chris and Lisa as they greet each other and I do believe a tear from Dad.
One happy bride and groom exited to the confetti throwing from the guests, looking radiant. The decorated golf buggy then took them off to their reception at the Pele Suite while the guests followed behind.
The crazy golf was a bit hit and just before the group shots another surprise was a dove release – always tricky to capture as happens so fast, but we did okay I think! The weather was not completely on our side and groups were interrupted with rain before the wedding breakfast. However plenty of clean space inside to finish the groups and beautiful rooms to take portraits inside – really spoilt for choice at this venue. So many photo opportunities.
Beautiful elegant cake from Suzanne Harvey Cakes. The detail included their wedding logo/initials to fit in with the theme
Bride and Groom Portraits Colshaw Hall Wedding
Happily, after the wedding breakfast, the sun came out and our couple had time to play some golf – Chris even got a hole in one. Quite competitive this couple! Time also before the evening party to capture some beautiful shots in the extensive gardens. A particular request from Lisa was by the Acer tree in the Japanese garden area Then with the golden evening light, it was time for some fun with the bridal party.
A specific request from Lisa – a ring shot with the golf ball favor
The evening kicked off with cake cutting and plenty of dancing. The live band certainly kept guests on the dance floor. Chris couldn’t resist donning a Liverpool shirt to dance in – after the first dance of course

Such a delight when Gemma and Scott approached uo to cover their relaxed family wedding Crabwall Manor
Crabwall Manor is a venue familiar to us having shot previous weddings here before.
This latest time though it was fabulous to see how the gardens have been maintained and improved.
Additions of a gazebo and a love seat are welcome too.
An afternoon wedding ceremony that rolled into the evening celebrations.
A perfect day just as they wished for and sunshine to enjoy the gardens.
Flowers for the bridal bouquet and those throughout the venue were by Flowerhouse Irby
They were stunning and vibrant, the peonies gorgeous and in full, bloom
The focus for this wedding was to be relaxed and family focused. The groups were not to be bride’s side and groom’s side but rather a joining of families – so refreshing!
The minimal groups meant guests had plenty of time to enjoy the gardens. Plenty of space for football and lawan games such as garden darts and croquet.
The secret gardens were explored too.
certainly kept the kids entertained and then later on kids young and old enjoyed the casino and dancing.
Hope you enjoy these highlights and we wish you much joy and happiness.
Crabwall Manor is a perfect venue for a relaxed venue.
Plenty of space, gorgeous gardens excellent food and staff.
Please contact us if you wish to discuss your Crabwall Manor wedding photography.
Always happy to be here.
Emma Kev’s bird-themed Spring wedding Inglewood Manor
A spring outdoor Inglewood Manor Wedding ceremony was planned for Emma & Kev and what a delightful day for them! Inglewood Manor is part of the Boutique Hotel Group which includes Peckforton Castle and Nunsmere Hall Hotel
Always a delight to shoot here and changes are gradually taking place which is improving the venue even more.
The Oak panelled room has been opened out and lets so much more light in – perfect for your wedding reception
The lower Burton Suite now has doors opening out to the lawns and [ond area beyond
Spring Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Inglewood Manor
…bu back to Emma & Kev’s day. A bright spring day with daffodils and bluebells in the woodland adding a splash of colour. Bridal preps – lots of activity with hair and makeup going up
We always arrive in plenty of time to capture candid and detail shots on the fly whilst the pampering and camaraderie amongst the girls goes on.
Dave captured some shots with the guys too, some cute interactions with their two boys trying to sort their hair out!
Soon it was time for the dress to go and some poignant memories of Dad – his picture in a locket tied to the bouquet.
One of her sons walked Emma to her Uncle at the top of the aisle who then carried on the short walk to a waiting kevin.
How lovely that that moment was shared by family members past and present. It was a privilege to witness the emotion on Emma’s face just seconds before she made that walk
.. so happy they had the outdoor ceremony they wanted – the first Outdoor wedding ceremony of the year for Inglewood Manor too.
Emma looked stunning in her bridal dress and ooh the lads scrubbed up well too.
Family Groups and Portraits Inglewood Manor We believe family groups are important so always make time to get a few.
It’s one of the few occasions when families get together, all dressed up and in a beautiful location. For large groups an overhead shot from the balcony is ideal.
Sometimes we do groups on the steps. This day with the sun being so bright we opted for the open shade with the woodland as a glorious backdrop.
Inglewood Manor is such a wonderful venue, with so many areas to shoot we never tire and always look for new angles as well as favourite areas.
Outdoor Inglewood Manor Wedding Reception
Ok so the ceremony was outside but the wedding breakfast was served inside in the Executive Suite – now beautifully opened up. No speeches at this wedding – everyone got to enjoy their food and have some downtime. The bird-themed table names are beautifully complemented by the birdcage cake from Suzanne Harvey and the birdcage centre pieces with their floral decorations created by Wow flowers. It looked immaculate. Also loved how Emma and Kevin had a “sweetheart table” for the two of them. Beautiful light after the breakfast so we grabbed Emma and Kevin for some fresh air and some golden light hour shots Such a beautiful time to take some memorable portraits, your photographers will love you for making time for these.
Big kids and smaller kids love the sweet cart!
…and the chocolate fountain is always popular
Evening Party Inglewood Manor Wedding
Soon time for the evening fun and with Tequila band always ensured a good time and action on the dance floor
Emma & Kev we wish you and your family so much happiness xx
First Look at a Festive Winter Wedding Inglewood Manor
Non Traditional Festive Winter Inglewood Manor Wedding Photography
Oh such a festive winter wedding at Inglewood Manor, The rooms beautifully decked and adorned with garlands and several Christmas trees.
So many gorgeous details. The snow cake with penguins and polar bear and topped with a gingerbread house. Really fitting for the festive theme.
Oh and our couple were blooming amazing too, totally non-traditional enjoying a first look before the ceremony and then walking down the aisle together.
Inglewood Manor Wedding First Look
It was such a lovely moment to capture and see their reactions when David turned around and saw Penny for the first time in her shimmering Monsoon wedding dress
Penny had cleverly accessorised the back of her dress herself with a string of pearls. The dress was stunning and so fitting for Penny
So relaxed with each other, it was a delight to see and we loved their many giggles!
Inglewood Manor Wedding Portraits
We took advantage of the light before the ceremony seeing as it was a late ceremony and would be dark afterwards being a Winter Inglewood Wedding
Inglewood has so many areas to take portraits we could avoid being overlooked by guests arriving for the wedding ceremony.
Inglewood Manor Wedding Photography of the Ceremony
We left them to have a few moments alone before the registrars cam to check their details before the wedding ceremony
Guests meanwhile had been gathering and enjoying canapes and then entered the Executive Suite (the oak panelled room)
Parents and Groomsmen, Bridesmaids and flower girl and page boy entered first before Penny and David finally entered, walking in together and looking so radiant
The Bridesmaids carrying lanterns which really fitted the Christmas theme.
A beautiful intimate family wedding, vows made and then what a kiss! \Soon time for the happy couple to exit for their mulled wine toast
Inglewood Manor Wedding Reception
There were a few groups but with plenty of time set aside and great cooperation, they were soon done. Family pictures are so important, especially when families had travelled far and wide, many from New Zealand to be her for Penny and David. The staircase is a lovely option for photos for small groups but for larger ones we used the side room with its beautiful Christmas tree and whitish walls.
There was plenty of time to mingle before the guests moved down to the Burton Suite so festively set up for the wedding breakfast and not just with the Christmas decorations
The table centrepieces were cute miniature winter scenes in fish bowls, all carefully painted by Penny herself – how creative!
There were several speeches – Father of Bride, Mother of Groom, Groom, Bestman and Bride’s sister! we love to capture the emotion and reactions during these.
Plenty of emotion, laughter and toasts to enjoy. The speeches were before the meal and afterwards, we left the party to enjoy their food and to continue the celebrations into the evening.
This was one of our short coverage twilight weddings and shows just how much can be captured in a few hours if you don’t require your photographers all day.
Of course, we took a couple of signature ring shots that we love to do – the bar in the Burton Suite made for a fab reflection and colour for the rings – how unusual are they!
Many congratulations David and Penny – it’s evident to see how much you enjoyed your day. Thank you for doing things your way and for asking us to capture the most important parts for you.
Wishing you many years of happiness and health, love Sandy & Dave
If you are planning an Inglewood Manor wedding and you love our approach and style of images then please get in touch
We have several favourite country house venues that we love to shoot at and the Cheshire wedding venue Inglewood Manor is right up there in our top 3.
Inglewood Manor is a restored Edwardian Manor House with 29 bedrooms and several function suites. Inglewood Manor is now part of luxury Boutique Hotels Group,
being bought in summer 2018, which also encompasses Peckforton Castle and Nunsmere Hall Hotel. These are also fabulous Cheshire wedding venues we enjoy shooting at.
Rooms and Grounds of Inglewood Manor
It’s always a joy to document a wedding here, options with the rooms and the gardens are extensive with woodland, gates and ponds and arbours. Always something different to shoot.
We have shot weddings in the Executive Suite (the dark panelled room), the Burton Suite downstairs, (now with its new bi-fold doors) and the white room on the left of the reception area.
The garden area at the rear of the Burton Suite has been opened out to make the best of the views across the estate, so now the view from this room is lighter and more expansive.
The extent of the gardens lends itself to options for other wedding ceremony sites – especially with new laws coming out, considering legally binding ceremonies outdoors.
Plus at a recent wedding, it was interesting to hear of the plans the new owners have for this fab Cheshire wedding venue – watch this space!
Inglewood Manor Weddings Throughout the seasons
Whatever the season – spring, summer, autumn or winter – there are always areas to shoot and enjoy outdoors ad especially indoors
Here is a selection of favourite images throughout the seasons at Inglewood Manor
Springtime Weddings Inglewood Manor – beautiful spring flowers and daffodils
A stroll outside before the ceremony – more on this “First look” at Inglewood in our next blog – look out for it soon
There are several Indoor and outdoor options for your group photos or portraits – so don’t worry about the weather.
You are always assured of a good day here, with excellent service.
